Ok, so I take the time to go to the PCP for his required every 3 months check in and A1C and thyroid blood work. Been doing this for about 3 years now. I show him the blood work that needs to be done and ask him to order it since I'm already getting stuck and giving vials of blood. The big jerk tells me he doesn't know enough about gastric bypass surgery to order blood work! He said if my surgeon calls him and tells him what he wants ran my doc will then order it. Which means another 20 miles one way and another stick, which hurts now that I am no longer 322 pounds. Plus another office visit cost I'm sure. And finding a babysitter. And I had to go back on a low dose blood pressure med I am officially bummed. I even got stupid teary eyed on the way home over it. And I seemed to have found 4 pounds that I had lost a week ago, so, whats up with that! And I'm really worried about Laurie G. A stroke??? She seemed to be doing so well. Always upbeat and full of energy! And I don't feel like I know her well enough to call her. Deep cleansing breath. Sorry 'bout the bad mood y'all. I'm having a few, very UNwow, moments. love to you all, Barb

Barb, You came to the right place to vent. Let it all out here rather than in front of the fridge. Hang in there! J

Barb, When stuff like that happens, focus on the long term, focus on what you have already accomplished! Great things have happened, don't let this get you down, chin up girlfriend! Carol

Did I SAY THAT? Barb, so sorry that you have to deal with your physicians. Doctors just don't seem up on this stuff. That's why we have to learn alot to be sure that they do what serves us best. I'm sorry about the blood pressure meds. I can tell you that post-surgery I thought I should be off my meds but my doctor said that without it I was still running high. I took it again for a while and then came off. My pressure was somewhat elevated and I thought she was going to put me on again but I think she forget. This was August. Then next thing you know - I'm still losing weight and when I go have my endoscopy in November and such done - my pressure is 106/67 or so. Beautiful! No meds. Then I just saw my PCP two weeks ago and then the endo and again...my numbers were about 100-110/60s. Looks like my body took for me to get below a certain weight before my pressure stayed at a good place. Perhaps the same will happen for you! Keep positive! Hugs, Kathy
