Have you replaced one addiction for another? (HONEST)
Aliya!! LOVE the pic!!!
I don't know that I've picked up any new addictions, I've always loved coffee, but I get the decaf, sugar free, and soy (aka the "why bother"
) but I love the flavor of coffee, so that's why I still get it. My favorite right now is a decaf, sugar free white chocolate raspberry soy latte. Only about 2, maybe 3 times/week.
Shopping may be a new addiction - but it's never for me, always for someone else (my kids or hubby or whatever). I don't buy myself any clothes because I usually get tons supplied to me by my support group! We almost always have a clothing exchage at our meetings! I may buy a little something here or there for me, but not if it costs too much because I know I won't be in it for long.

I know just where you're coming from. I always loved my red wine and asked my doc repeatedly before surgery if I'd still be able to have it. He always said yes. But now I am drinking it everyday, especially since that hurricane came and kicked us around down here. Anyhow, I know it's bad, but so far I haven't changed that habit. I've even smoked a cigarette from time to time (!). Awful, I know.
About the coffee -- here's an alternative: I have this cold-brew coffee maker called "Toddy." The acid and caffeine are lower when you brew it this way. It is extremely smooth. You use a whole pound of coffee at once and brew it overnight. Then you have a whole carafe of coffee concentrate that you can keep in the fridge. When you make your drinks (hot or cold) you just use a little of the concentrate and then water, milk, whatever. It comes with recipes. I've been drinking blended (frappucino anyone?****d and hot. I use the Carb Countdown chocolate milk, or just 2% milk and then Coffeemate flavored creamers for variety. (I even use the full sugar/fat versions, because I use so little of it at once.) From time to time, I've even drunk a protein shake with this coffee concentrate in it and it's pretty good. But the best is the Carb Countdown and Coffeemate. Even my never-been-fat sister tried it and said it was great -- "like Stabucks" she said. Only much, much cheaper. And much less fat and sugar. (Although I commend you -- non-fat lattes are a good choice for us!)
I got my Toddy maker at a local coffee shop, but then bought one online for a friend at baristaproshop.com. They're about $25. The company's direct website is toddycafe.com.
Aliya,
Love your new picture - you look awesome.
I don't have a problem with red wine or coffee. As a migraine headache person since I was 5, I haven't been able to have caffeine or wine (both cause headaches for me) but I do love shopping though. Unfortunately, my wallet doesn't allow for too much of it but I just love to go to the mall and look in regular stores now. I'm also interested in jewelry especially since I can wear a normal size bracelet and necklace. So many benefits.
Have a great day.
