I went shopping yesterday for a ball gown. The Barix clinic here in Michigan puts on a ball every year for any and all wls patients. It's not until April, but I was excited to start looking for a dress. Wow, talk about FUN!!!! I had a blast trying on dresses. This was the repeat of the afternoon: My husband would pull a dress off the rack and give it to me. I'd tell him, there's NO WAY this will fit. He'd tell me to "Just try it on" I'd try it on AND IT FIT!!!! (the guy must have REALLY studied my body cuz he got every one of them right) I've NEVER had soo much fun shopping before!! Now the only problem is... making the decision!!!! I liked a few of them. I liked the poofy cinderella dresses, (childhood dreams I guess); I liked the slim tight fighting dress (definately shows off all I have left to show off); I just don't know which kind to buy!!! Heeee heeee heeee - what an amazing problem to have!!!!!!!!!!!! Which beautiful ball gown to buy!! Laurie - feeling a little vain today

Laurie, Feeling better I take it? Don't decide just yet!... You've got 3 months left and you know how fast we changes shape and sizes... I know we would all love to be in on the voting, so take a digital with you and get some pix for us... It should be fun to see the Virtual fashon show. Kate Z

Great idea to bring the camera!!! I didn't think of that. I'm not buying my dress until I know about hernia repair and TT. I go see the surgeon next week on that. I'm pretty much done changing sizes and shapes, except if they do the TT. But Im not really counting on getting the TT done. The hernia repair is a sure thing, the TT would just be BONUS!!! Next time I go looking, I'll definately bring along a camera. Laurie

I met my husband in Aug 1994 and then in Nov 1994 we went to the Marine Corps Ball. Quite a fancy event for anyone who doesn't know about the military. The Marines all where their dress blues (very hot!!) and their dates get very dressed up, like junior prom! Anyway, I still have the dress I wore there and the other day I tried it on....and it fit!!! A junior size 9/10, very short with heart shaped top and spaggetti straps!! I never thought I would fit in it again, I don't have any idea why I have saved it all these years! You go Laurie!! Find the dress of your dreams!! But don't buy it too soon or you will have to have it altered by April!!!
