Mayster Poll: Celebration Time!

As most of us are 2 months or less (or close to that by now) from our 1 year anniversaries/rebirthdays/surgiversaries... What are you going to do to celebrate?

Well, for Rich's 1 year anniversary/rebirthday/surgiversary, we had a party and invited friends over to celebrate with us. The man was already at goal by 9-10 months post-op. Men, sheesh! Anyway, some folks had seem him for other occassions but some hadn't seen him in a while so it was very cool. I talked to Rich and for my 1 year anniversary/rebirthday/surgiversary, I think we'll be going to the OH event in Pittsburg. It is one week shy of my 1 year so I thought it might be fitting way to "celebrate" of sorts. A nice long weekend away wouldn't be a bad thing for Rich or I. Right now, alot depends on what is up with my sister and her treatment. I'm waiting to hear what the game plan is. She meets the oncologist on Wednesday so we'll know then. We had a family cruise planned for July but if she is chemo-ing it, no cruise. We'll just go on one next year. What is important is that she gets through the treatment and back on her feet, strong and healthy. Anyway, I'm trying to keep my schedule pretty clear so that I can go visit and perhaps help out by taking her to a chemo treatment so her hubby can work. Other than the possiblity of Pittsburg, a party would have been nice but budgetarily I don't think both are in the cards. And actually even as social as I am I think I'd enjoy some down time with Rich far more than a party. I have a gift card that I received for my birthday to the Red Door Salon so I think I'll use my 1 year anniversary/rebirthday/surgiversary to use that! I also have a couple of gift cards for Macys that I got from my family for my birthday/Christmas. I may use them to treat myself to some cool clothing for the summer. Kathy

Kathy, I haven't thought about it, but, 2 weeks after my surgervesary I have a fun trip planned for myself, so I will also use that as a reward and celebration. All the folks I will see there haven't seen me in 2 years so it will be great! Your plans sound very nice! Lori

Hi Kathy! I am getting married!!!!! On your rebirthday... 5/20/06... I am so excited. I can't wait to put that dress on and actually feel like a princess!!!!! When I got engaged I was so depressed to have to worry about fitting into the dress and how I would look. I put off planning everything for a LONG TIME because of this. Now I cannot wait and we are going to Bermuda for our honeymoon. Unfortunately my Billy WILL NOT fly so we are taking a cruise out of Boston down to Bermuda. What a way to celebrate!!!!

I'm going to Huahine (Hoo-a-HEE-nay) in French Polynesia. I'll be there on my 1 year anniversary actually. Yesterday was my 10 month anniversary and I made it down 100.7 lbs. Only have between 22 and 37 lbs to go!!!!

Mom and I are going to Alabama to celebrate my anniversary, we'll celebrate about a week early, but that's ok, I will be seeing people that haven't seen me in 2 years so it will be exciting to see the reactions. I think later on we might go to Hawaii. Brenda 321/209 38# to goal

My celebration will be in June: we're going to Ireland ... (can hardly wait) ... no Guiness this time though! Eileen

I'm going to do a five mile walk/jog to mark the occasion. On 5/24/05, I struggled to walk five blocks, so I will commemorate the occasion by walking/jogging five miles on 5/24/06.
