What are you eating on Monday?
Hey TT,
Girl you know its true! I stayed dry mouthed for days on end. I can remember being in the hospital and Tanja (angel) had called. I felt like I had pure cotton in my mouth and couldnt even talk hardly. And what made it worse is I had a end room with a huge picture window of Atlanta and man let me tell you. There was a billboard up of a coke with icy water melting down off of it. Made me mad lol... But it will get better. You just dont think it ever gets better and then one day you wake up and that feeling is gone lol go figure?????
Hugs Marge
T I have had this since my surgery on the 7th. It is HORRIBLE!! I went to yell at my kids the other day and couldn't because my lips were stuck to my teeth!!
I find that sucking on sugar free popsicles helps. I also make 2 or 3 different flavors of Crystal Light so I can have a choice. I was just asking about the drinking thing the other day it seems I can never quench my thirst no matter how much I drink. My lips actually have these nasty looking dry spots. My husband is quick to tell me the things I need to correct so he bought some Aquafina lip therapy stuff last night.
Keep water nearby (my water always goes down hard though I don't know why), and try the popsicles they are a HUGE help. I let the cold liquid kinda sit in my mouth for a few seconds to wet my lips and gums.
I told someone I think I could down a big gulp in like 30 seconds..
.
Everyone tells me this will get better in time so I'm sucking on my popsicles and waiting.
Good luck and let me know if they help.
HUGS,
Jamie

Besides you not eating much, the vitamins can do this...especially the Folbic (foltx). My doctor had me stop taking it 6 mos after surgery, but I recently started taking it again due to low B12, and the dry mouth is back w/ a vengence. I take it at night due to it makes me sleepy, and I wake up in the night needing a drink of water. I also awake with the same yucky dry mouth I had before, so I know this is what it was. When I had stopped taking it, the dry mouth during the night went away. Good luck!

Hi Twinnie!
This just goes to show how this journey can be such an emotional roller-coaster ride. Just this week I was all depressed and we were all getting ready to throw a vitual crying party.
Now this big Wow!
I have always hated trying clothes on in the store or at home. First of all...I would get soo winded physically. And second of all, the clothes didn't fit or look right on me...and that would make me even more depressed!!! I hardly ever tried on clothes in the store. I just bought them and hoped for the best..if it didn't work, I'd bring the clothes back to the store with reciept in hand. Does that sound familiar to anybody?? It was just too weird for me to go through this. I'm not getting rid of everything cause I need a few baggy shirts for painting and cleaning around the house..plus shirts that are baggie now, which once were tight, is a great reminder to focus on the prize..not the Easter clearance candy, which is STILL in my kitchen.
Hugs,
Ginger
