Laura, Reading your message makes me feel for you and your daughter so much. I know it's just relating to her from personal experience and as a mother how you must also feel. I'm so glad your sons are supportive of their sister. I hope today and the rest of the week is much better. Hugs, Wanda

Dang, sweety, I'm sorry... I haven't dumped in months but I know how horrible it is... For me, the worst part is the anxiety, the kind of "sky is falling" foreboding feeling you get - fuzzy-headed panic, I guess... Hope you figure out what it is soon.

of dumping. Almost every day, I think, since last week and I have no clue what I'm dumping on. Just not sure what my body isn't liking. Last week, I had chinese for lunch one day and dumped shortly thereafter. Abdominal pain, bloating, the usual. I hadn't dumped many times over the span of 17 months but enough to know that apparently incidental sugars are issues so avoid the real deal. But now, I'm not sure if it is artificial sweeteners or fat or lactose issues or what. I do not think I've changed anything in the last week or two. I seem to eat the same things I always have. Had the dumping quite bad a few times - very painful. This just s*cks. Now I'm going to have to do the elimination diet... tomorrow I'll skip my vitamins and my partial apple and just stick to meat proteins and protein shakes and see if that stops it. If so then I'll start adding things back in. Not fun. Not fun at all. Kathy

You'll need to add Vitamin A and D to the mix and adjust iron or get infusions. You'll need to up calcium though improving your D may make the difference. Vitamin D effects calcium absorption. Folate is a B vitamin. Its found in leafy green vegies, fortified cereals, dried beans, some fruit and vegies. It helsp produce and maintain new cells. If you are deficient in folate, it can affect red blood cell production and lead to anemia. There is an interaction between B12 and folate. "Folic acid supplements can correct the anemia associated with vitamin B12 deficiency. Unfortunately, folic acid will not correct changes in the nervous system that result from vitamin B12 deficiency." There is also some evidence that low folate can lead to depression. Kathy

I'm very sorry for your daughter's experience. I think many of us have had this experience at her age so I do feel for her. If anything, kids have become crueler I think. Heck, I got picked on by a 3-4 year old months before my surgery "Mommy, why is that lady so fat?" Of course "Mommy" did nothing to tell her child that people come in all sizes and that is okay. No teaching of tolerance there. Irks me. I hope your daughter is better today. Glad to here she is working with a professional. Kathy

My daughter who is a typical teenager but she is very sensitive and kindhearted.Last night for halloween she dressed up in this gothic witch costume and it was cute. She had the nylons the weird hair a cute short dress and the make-up.She is a girl after my own genes (lucky her) she is overweight and some boys made fun of her and she came home in tears and went to bed.Its so hard I tell her how beautiful she is and she looked fab last night it just makes my heart ache to see her pain.I guess it hits home thats why it bothers me so much. She goes to a therapist beacuse she suffers from anxiety and has trichotillomania to boot!!.She really is feeling better about herself but things like this just make me scream. She is in middle school and I tell you the kids are brutal. She knows who her true friends are and she is learning quicker than I did.I have 2 older teenage boys who said to her "which boys are they" ...we'll kick their butt you show us she knew they wouldnt that kinda made her smile.Just felt like venting.~Laura~
