Oh Kate,
They are too funny. I'm sitting here at work reading them and laughing so hard that I'm attracting toomuch attention to the fact that I'm on the computer NOT doing the state's business.

My son's uncle, one of my best friend's ex-husband, was in a horrible motorcycle accident last night. They married right out of HS, had 2 children, divorced, remarried and then eventually divorced again. I've know them both since I was 18. Of course, divorce rarely means your love for someone just dissapears into thin air.
Rick had been drinking, was not wearing a helmet and was riding someone else's bike. He hit a median and crashed. He's shattered his skull in several places, shattered his occipital bone, shattered his jaw, fractured his vertebrae and has road rash down one side of his body from his head on down, along with lots of scrapes and bruises. The doctors are giving him a 2% chance of living and even then, they think he will probably be a vegetable.
To make matters even worse, his 20 year old daughter has to call all the shots, as she is his medical guardian. Talk about the weight of the world on your shoulders. I've known Randie since she was about 5 or 6. She's still just a little girl to me, and here she is having to sign papers, make decisions, and watch her father breathing on a machine.
Please say a prayer or meditate or have a few thoughts about this family. They could definately use it and I would appreciate it. Even though we're not exactly related, I've known him for a long time, and he's my son's uncle. Holden went with me to the hospital and was very brave. We got to spend a few minutes with Rick in ICU and he looks horrible, but Holden was as brave as can be.
Thanks,
Becky

Hey, Kate,
I wonder why I asked how tall ya are. ROFLMAO.
I'm about 1-1.5 inches taller. I'm just a titch under 160 and really do not want to go lower except for maybe 5. So your goal of 140 might be too low given extra skin and stuff.

Laurie,
I hope that between all the doctor's visits, you get it all worked out and soon.
Please be careful out there, honey.
Hugs, Kathy

Food for thought.....
Where to begin....
NON-ME Items....
1) Spend more quality time with my Daughter... She's 16+ and I see her for less than 2 hours per day... She's an A student getting a "D" in one of her classes... It took a mid-term warning for me to know that she's slacking (bad Kate). Now that she's grounded until Thanksgiving, I want to get to know her again.
2) Get my home ready for the Holidays... With the new puppy, my house looks like doggie kindercare.... between the two dog beds (in three rooms), the toys, the half eaten rawhides, etc... Every room is a mine field. Time to get a handle...
3) DH has a REALLY bad cold.. Time to give him a little TLC...
Challenge items:
1) DRINK MORE DAMN WATER!!! I am soooo bad about this.... I'm even having chest pain that I'm sure is due to dehydration.... (I think)...
2) Take the Vitamins on the Weekend!!! I have two weekly pill boxes... I'd like to get thru one or two weeks without having some slots full....
3) Excersize my trouble spots at least 3 times a week. (upper arms, inner thighs, etc...)
4) Start getting information on Plastics, cost, recovery, etc...
Good luck on this challenge Maysters... I'm making a chart to track my progress.

313/173/140?
And Kathy,... I never got back on your quesiton... I'm 5'6"

Topic: Medical Update
OK, I'm starting to get a grasp on what needs to be done here, unfortunately for me the list is loooooooong!!!
1. I went to the allergist yesterday. My allergies are worse now that we moved this summer and so he's adding in another medication for me to take during the day.
2. I go to my new pcp on Thursday. My allergist knew him and said that he was a great doc. (yea) This poor guy is going to be ready to go on a long vacation after my appointment this week.
3. I go to the hematologist on Thursday as well. (pray for me Thursday... I have a day FULL and I'll be driving about 300 miles round trip that day) Here I'm bringing all my labs and hoping and praying that he'll jump right into iron infusions!!!
4. The numbness in my arms does not appear to be from vitamins, which means it's probably from my herniated disk in my neck. So, I'll need to go see the neurologist. Which means MRI - OOOhHHHHH NO!!! God knows I HATE being stuffed into a tube like that, eventhough I'll be drugged up.
5. I have a nutritionist that I'm working with to help me get in my food AND make better food choices at the same time. The goal is to NOT eat McDonalds everyday because the darn burger is 300 calories and I need them. The goal is to eat Healthy food and still get my required calories. (I'm actually getting sick and tired of McDonalds)heehee
6. I will be going to a wls surgeon and getting all my records from my surgeon transfered. We will be discussing the possibility of another surgery to unbypass part of me inorder to obsorb more food and vitamins. This is LAST DITCH effort, but it's come time to at least look at the possibility. I've been malnurished for a YEAR now!!!!
Good Grief - I FEEL like a hypcrondriac (sp?) ya know?? someone who thinks they're always sick or dieing.
This is just too many problems for a young 37 year old lady!!!!!!!!!!! But I do now see how these things have all contributed to my anxiety/panic attacks and depression. My brain is in a "fog" lately, which isn't a good place to be. I'm doing strange things that I don't normally do. This weekend I ran a stop sign and almost got myself killed. OMGSH did that scare the s%$# out of me!!! My memory is somewhere, but I don't quite remember where I left it.
Well, that's all of my whine for the day....... time to grab some cheese!!!!
Laurie
