Topic: RE: Have I Mentioned That I Hate Dumping
I dumped this weekend on a piece of sugar-free raspberry coffee cake. I think the piece was too big. Well... I "know" the piece was too big. I deserved it.

Topic: Let the 8 Week Challenge Begin!!!
I said I'd do it and here goes.
Post the things that you'd like to work on in the next 8 weeks. The challenge will last til Christmas day which is 8 weeks from today. Makes some positive changes. Work on getting in your water or vitamins. Work on getting in your protein. Working on moving your body to get it fit and toned.
We'll have a weekly check in for those participating. Remember you can jump in at any time.
Some suggestions of things to keep in mind:
1. Try not to post "I want to lose 10 lbs by Christmas" - we all know this far post-op that it is hard to truly gauge how much weight our bodies will lose and how fast/slow it will go. It would be wiser to chose eating, water, vitamin and fitness goals that might yield weight loss when done consistently over the 8 week period.
2. Try not commit to doing anything every single solitary day during the 8 weeks. Do not set yourself up for failure from the start. We all know that is derned near impossible to do something every day. Illness, problems, work, family and just plain life gets in the way. Setting a goal of "I'm going to get 100 oz of water in and all my vitamins in at least 5 days a week every week" is better than saying you are going to do it 7 days a week. See my point? (See I actually did pay attention at Weigh****chers and other therapy type meetings).
3. Be sure to set yourself some cool reward at the end for a job well done. Whether it is buying yourself something if it is in the budget, a spa treatment, or just going to the library and getting a good book and allowing yourself the free time to doing nothing else but sit and read - go for it!
So what'll it be. Name your own poison. LOL!
Think I'll cross-post this on the WLS-grads board too, FYI.

I am up for it. In fact, I already know what I want to change!
Topic: RE: Who has More than 20 lbs to Personal Goal
Who has more than 20 pounds left to lose? Me! Me! Me! I have 27 to be exact. Yep,. the Golden Months are indeed over!
Good grief, what is it going to take to get this stupid weight off!?!?!?!? Man-O-man, it's "HARD"! Right after my one-year anniversary, I plateaued for a few months. I joined Weigh****chers and the scale has been moving down V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y. like two pounds per month since August. I know at almost 18 months out, I am EXTREMELY blessed to be losing at all since many of my fellow Mayster sisters stopped losing weight altogether months ago. I also know that I might be losing faster if every weekend did not morph into a two-day munch fest. I am soooooo good Monday-Friday, but weekends are a different story.
I also want to get from my current size 12 to an 8. Actually to be honest, I want to be a 6, but I could probably live with size 8. I am starting plastics next summer with a bracioplasty. I will be more than 2 years out and I don't care what my weight is doing goal or not, I am going to go ahead and get plastics started. This skin is driving me CRAZY. It is just hanging everywhere and I cannot wait to get to lopped off!
Good luck, Kate.
Hugs, Tracy

Topic: RE: Have I Mentioned That I Hate Dumping
i tend to dump whenver i'm stressed or whenver i take my iron without food....which sometimes is more often than not...... trouble is ..... i work long long days so it happens at work and i work in an office building and its HORRIBLY embarrasing!!!! so i sit in a stall (SORRY TO GIVE MORE INFO THAN MOST WANT TO HEAR!!!)..... but i sit in a stall, and as others enter the restroom, i lift my feet , so as not to let my feet be recognized..... and wait for the other ladies to depart..... it has become a daily challenge.
i have tried to remember to bring in some kind of deodorizer, but never ever think about it, because this often happens first thing in the morning. and really.... how can i carry around a large can of spray? i tried the DEVROM, i tried other pills, i tried even taking the other pills..... (the names escapes me at the moment of those green pills) and my BMS were green for the longest time....
it got to the point where i would hate to be ANY WHERE when i had to go... but i have to work for a living and i have to eat .... so what is a girl to do?
its sort of a 'dumping' and a regular BM and just part of the whole side effect of the WLS...
kathy.......my dear expert...... any advise? i have tried taking my iron late at night, right when i get up....... i still have had no good results.....
thanks, JESS

Syb,
It takes a tremendous amount of courage to be doing the therapy you are doing. Some people are never able to "lance that boil" and get to the heart of their problem. You must give yourself credit for both having that courage, and the hard work you have done to lose 200 pounds. It sounds like you have chosen a path forwards, not back.
Congratulations,

Topic: I'm home from Lexi
Hi all, just popping in to say hi. I had a great time in Lexi and wish you all could have been there with me... There's too much to tell everyone about, it was an incredible trip. I learned a lot, made some new friends, met some old friends for the first time in my life and learned a lot about myself. The cool thing is, in this type of environment, it's not just about obesity. There was so much more. So much.
I put a few pics on my profile and I'll try to share some of the things I've learned in the classes in separate posts in the next few days. If you ever have the opportunity, I strongly urge you to attend one of these events. It was so valuable to me...
I missed you guys, though, so I'm going to try to catch up on the boards a bit!
