Hey, April!
Sounds like things are going great with school. Awesome. I'm so glad that everything worked out for you.
Stop by and see us when you can!
Take care, Kathy

Hey, Michelle!
Congrats on the schooling as well as the teaching. That's great.
Sorry to hear you still suffer from pain issues. Is the sweating/shaking from the pain or are you having blood sugar issues (hypoglycemia)? Have you done any research to see if your problem could be something like costochondritis? It is rib cartilage issues. Pain can be quite bad and mimick heart attacks and stuff. Not easy to diagnose. Sorry to hear about the fibro being so hard on you too. I hope you find the ****tail of meds that works for you very soon to keep things managed well.

My PCP is basically running the show as it relates to my labs. She orders them and I get a copy and take it to my surgeon but if I need changes in vitamins or anything... my PCP tells me what to add therefore the surgeon doesn't have to. While it is great to be in touch with a surgeon for follow-ups, a good PCP who is reading up on WLS or wants to keep informed can handle the labs and supplements. Important thing would be to make sure that the PCP runs all the tests that are needed.
Good luck with it, Laura!

Topic: RE: Guess who finally got a home computer?!?!?
Yea, Tracy!
We hope to see ya around more often now that you are hooked up. Nice of your company to offer the oldies to the staff. Congrats on the broadband.
I'm at 162.5 and I was down to 155 for 4-5 days, I think. Right now I'm on the up-zone part of my weight. My this up-zone is lower than before so ultimately a good thing. Not unusual for me to drop to a low weight for just a few days and then bounce up 5+ lbs and hover. Then next thing I know I'll go down a few and that lower weight becomes more of the norm. We'll see. Need to cut out the SF stuff, me thinks.

BCBS ppo wont cover any gasric bypass stuff like some of the blood work isnt covered.I need to find one that is willing maybe to read my lab results for a office visit.Florida isnt the greatest for insurance my policy states nothing with gastric by pass in medical terminology.I love the warm weather hate the hurricanes but love the sunshine

Topic: RE: HUNGRY
You said you had an "urge to eat". That sounds like head-hunger to me becauce I have the same, exact constant urges. I would eat all the time if I listened to my greedy brain constantly telling me to eat. Chewing gum helps immensly. I go through more than a pack a day. Trident Splash Strawberry lime is my drug... err... gum of choice. Good luck!
Hugs, Tracy
P.S. Congrats on getting down to 145!
Topic: Guess who finally got a home computer?!?!?
Yep, that would be me! I got it last week. It's not new but it did not cost me anything either. It's a 2003 Dell that my job gave to me. We all got upgraded to new desktops at work, so they let us take our old machines home. Apparently the "brain trust" that runs this place has idea that we will use the computers to work at home - poor misguided saps...
Anyway, the Comcast guy came out yesterday evening and hooked up my highspeed Internet. So not only do I have a new"ish" computer, I have broadband!!
So now maybe I can keep in better touch. It was getting to the point at work that I did not have time to sign on anymore, but I can now sign on in the evenings when I have time. Anyway, I am at work now, so I better run. Toodles! Hugs, Tracy
P.S. My weight is currently 163. I got down to 159 for about 5 minutes two Thursdays ago, but I have not seen it since!

Ummm.. I'll take your temps in the 70's and you can have my "beautiful leaves".
That sucks about your surgeon moving out of state. I don't quite understand what you are saying about insurance - I'm a lil' dense sometimes so you have to break it down to me! Anyway, how come you can't just find another WLS doc to monitor you in Florida? Your insurance won't pay?

Topic: RE: WEIGHT STABALIZED, BUT WANT TO LOSE MORE
Congratulations on your 100 pounds, Leona. That's excellent and you should feel proud of yourself.
As for water, want to hear something weird? I GAIN weight when I do not drink enough. Through the week, I am diligent and disciplened abou****er and easily get in well over 100 oz of water and tea. On weekends, however, I am lucky to get in more than 20 ounces per day and it never fails that I will be five or more pounds heavier on Monday morning thatnI was on Friday night. Once, I start my drinking program again, I pee every couple of hours and the weight all falls off in a few days. So, I definitely say drink up! I think of it as flushing out of my system all of the crap I eat! Good luck! Hugs, Tracy

My surgeon left the state of Florida to move to Alabama so I have a booklet of what tests I need done.I am useing my primary care but they arent as knowledgeable as vaughns office was.Sometimes the pcp freaks when the gastric doctor didnt so ...what to do? I am going to have the tests run and where can I compare my results to that I will have a educated reaction about them? Does this make sense?Dr Vaughn has an office # in Alabama do you think I should call them there...seems like he was starting a new life/practise there and really advised us to check out other doctors in our local area like our pcp.In the state of Fla nothing that is remotely inline with bypass bcbs wont touch.I did some med assis interning at the pcp's office thats why they have been so kind as to help me with my labs ect ..otherwise its out of pocket baby
I am going to run my labs in Nov when they are due and then I think I'll call Vaughn ??!!?? whats a girls to do (haha) What would you smart ladies suggest.Hope everybodyis having a great day.I know its getting chilly up north I hear tomorrow we are getting some cold air... in the 60-70s ..plz dont hate (just kidding) atleast you guys have beautiful leaves and white beautiful snow.I remember I lived in upstate NY as a kid ~Laura~
