You go girl!! I answered some posts this am on the main board about smoking. Quitting is so hard but believe me it is so worth it! 21 months quit for me now and I don't regret a second of it. The money saving alone should be a pretty good incentive! I spent about $5 a day, which is $35 a week which is $1,825 dollars a year!!!!! And my hubby quit too! I still put our money away ($50 a week) into the credit union. Last year we went on a cruise with the cash! Not having to worry about your cigarettes every second is also a huge relief. Can I smoke here? Do I have enough for work? Should I stop and get more? Did I leave them in the house? the car? the office/ Where is my lighter? Is it out of butane? Aren't there some matches in this damn car? Why don't they put lighters in new cars? Remember to get some cigs when I get grocieries so I have enough money for them! You don't have my brand? I'll just drive to the next store, its not like gas isn't $3 a gallon! You will have so much time to think about better things! Any you will smell better and just have overall better health. Keep it up and check out Quinet.com it is a forum just like OH. I love and used it all the time during the first few months. You can do it Jen

Go, Diane! Remember, each day, hour, minute, second at a time. No need to beat yourself up for the past. What's done is done! Look forward to improved health, a better sense of taste and smell, ease in breathing, no more cigarette smell on your clothing or hair, no more yellow film on walls and curtains (I grew up in a house with a smoker so I know), etc. The future is brighter - that is what is important! I know if I'm in the same room as a bagel, I'll add 5 lbs. Glad to know you found your problem. Bagels are definitely white flourish even if they have some whole wheat in 'em plus lots of gluten and stuff to plump 'em up. Lots of carbs. Back in my early diabetic days... I was put on insulin and told to eat... 60-65 grams of carbs at a sitting. Yup, you read that right! That was the ADA diet. Anyway, I could eat 4 slices of whole grain bread for 60 grams (15 grams each) measure my blood sugars and it would be as expected for after eating but if I had 60 grams from a bagel (or part of a bagel) my sugars would be way, way up there. All carbs are not equal at all. All food are not created equal. Enjoy your burger and dippers! Kathy
