The up thing is nothing new for me. I'm up and down the scale like a rollercoaster. Always have been even when the rest of y'all were losing regularly - not me. My body has several pound swings at a time. I try not to worry about trying to figure out what caused it - I just go with the flow unless it is a huge jump. A few pounds - no worry. If it becomes an upward trend (like my infamous 7 lb gain from the Power Crunch bars), then I start looking at things. I still eat very low carb. I'm still wondering about the wheat carb versus other carb things so I bought some rye crackers that are wheat-free and I'll see if my body tolerates them well or not. So much of this for me is sort of trial and error. LOL. Trial and gain? Kathy

Pre-B: Cup o' joe (brownie toffee crunch coffee, no less), protein shake made w/ chilled coffee B: A few bites of the last piece of sugar free chocolate swirl cheesecake that Rich made last week - we shared! L: Food from the Wokery bar at Wegmans. Assortment of bites of chicken, pork and beef from some of the Asian food and a few green beans. Ended up with pretty strong pains afterwards in the car. Not good. Don't think it was dumping. Seemed more in the pouch. I didn't overeat. I've learned to take less too. Not sure what that was but it scared me a bit. S: Blue Bunny SF Peanut Butter Cup ice cream pop S: 1 piece American cheese, protein shake (Nectar lemon tea) which I'm drinking now. I took a nap so my schedule is completely off. D: Piece of Costco salmon, green beans w/ almonds and whipped butter on top S: Protein shake (Nectar lemon tea) Water: 32 oz in - that's all so far. (sigh) Will work on that. Vitamins: Got 4 doses of calcium in but not the rest yet. I'm going to do those with dinner for a change. My weekends tend to be so less structured. Exercise: Was going to go to the gym but feeling crappy ruined that. Tomorrow is another day...

Sounds wonderful! I made a splenda apple crisp a week or two ago. Just winged the ingredients. It was great. Nice to see you, Jan! Kathy

Candy - It's good that you've found your "range" of calories. When you cut your calories too low (for you 1200) your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to everything that you do take in. - Hence, no weight loss and sometimes gain. I find it hard to go low carb as well. I'm getting about 80 - 100 g of carbs a day, but I do make them good carbs. (oatmeal, for fiber; whole grains, veggies) I do know that my body needs 90 grams of protein, so I still supplement with protein drinks, I probably will for life!!! I never thought as a preop that this would be such a challenge in our postop lives!! Laurie

Update: AS - protein bar D - I'm making homemade chicken pot-pie, dunno why, but it sounded good, I probably won't eat the crust, just the filling, and real mashed taters (I'll eat a little of these, can't resist)
