Sweetie,
thanks for checkin in, I know how you feel, and as you can see, others do as well. Hang in there, because you, we, I CAN do this!

I don't know but I'm in the same boat. Last week I finally hit "normal" bmi and was down to 153.2. What am I today? 158.6!!!! I gained almost everything I lost the month before and I haven't changed anything! I just don't understand.
I kept thinking "it's jus****er weight" but I still haven't lost it. Plus, after bragging about how I've finally found something that worked for me with chronic constipation, now THAT doesn't work anymore. It's like I had a secret from my body and once I let the cat out of the bag, my body said "Oh, let's stop that!" WTH!
Well, just perservere. You know that you need to exercise and eat right and just keep doing it and eventually you'll be rewarded. That's what I intend to do but it sure is disheartening to gain when you are working so hard.

Diane,
Geez, you aren't unworthy, my dear.
All of us struggle. We really do. Just read through the posts and you'll see folks struggling with all types of situations. Whether it is smoking, trips to McDonalds, to grazing... none of us is perfect. We are imperfect beings that are going to eat unhealthy, overeat, graze, stress eat, etc. The key is to try to limit those events and not beat yourself up too much for it.
I ate way too much last night. Felt horrid. Curled up in a ball. Will I do it again. Yes. Am I beating myself up for it. No. What's done is done. I hated how I felt and it was something that I could and can control. I'll try not to do it again anytime soon. That's the best I can do. There are no nevers.
Please post. Come back often even if you just lurk.
Each minute gives us the opportunity to start fresh and from this point out. Start now. Do what is healthy for your body and your overall health. Do it as best you can. It is not all-or-nothing. You can start anytime.
Take care, Kathy

Aliya,
I hear ya, sweetie.
I overate big time last night after feeling ill yesterday and coming home from work. 2 oz of peanuts, piece of salmon, 2 SF blue bunny ice cream pops and a small piece of SF cheesecake over the span of a couple of hours, I guess. I felt like utter crap. I hurt. I curled up in a ball in bed - made Rich go to the living room to watch TV - didn't want the bed to move. It t'weren't purdy. LOL.
Luckily, I rarely do that. I have to learn from it again to set boundaries for myself and eat within limits but realize that there will be times when I do this to myself and I just gotta move on.
Hugs, Kathy

Hi Diane
If you can't come here where can you go? Cuz god knows if poor eating excluded you from visiting I wouldn't be here either! I have just noticed those beers slide down way to easy each evening! Yeah they are low carb but after 6 who cares!!!
I stop by OH every morning and lurk around and post here and there. I really think it helps keep me grounded in WLS reality!!!!

It sure is easy to fall back into old habits! But I really believe that we are like "normal weight" people now. Some days are good some days are bad but we have the control to change it up. Eating like a pig one day isn't the end of the world. The next day or 2 or 3 we just need to get back on track and be accountable!
Know you are not alone in your struggles!

If you know you are really being "better" and doing the right thing just stick with it. Don't let 2 lbs throw you into a tail spin. Keep up the good food choices and exercise!

You are very welcome Jen, It is the Overeaters Anonymous "For Today" daily meditation book. Think it can be ordered online. ( try OA )
Yep, people who do not struggle with food truly do not get it. It's not their fault. As you say they really do mean well.
Guess that is why it is so important that we get equipped with whatever is necessary for us to abstain. It can be a slippery slope as we know so well.
BTW one of the tools of recovery in OA is reading.

Mary

Is your body sore from the exercise? Sore muscles like any "injury" will hold water to help heal. If you get any type of injury, it swells, correct? Muscles are no different. When you exercise, you create small tears in the fibers. When they mend, they grow.
Glad to hear about your cycle. Know how bad that had been and how long it had been.
Be patient with your body.
