Topic: RE: 19 Month Post-Op Happy Holiday New Year Roll Call
Happy Holiday, Maysters,
I am happy, both daughters are home for the week. I have my shopping and wrapping done, and my mom will be joining us from the nursing home for Christmas day. Being tempted a little by holiday treats, argh. Still have many moments of sadness and mourning for my father.
As for the New Year, I gave up resolutions many years ago. Just the word "resolution" had a negative connotation to me. Instead, I focus on "aspirations". It just works better for me. In the last day or two, I've realized that I have *achieved* my life long aspiration of being physically normal. It was the one goal that had eluded me my entire life. Now, at 51, I have to discover my new focus. The normal stuff is still there, grow a healthy relationship with my husband, try to teach by example to my daughters on how to live a happy, fulfilling life, maintain the weight loss and continue the healthy exercise and eating regime. I think it's going to take some deep soul searching to chart the next step of my life.

Hey Heather,
This is some good news. At least you know now where to start. Another protein suggestion is perhaps the Nectar brand of protein powders. I think they are BSA proteins, which is bovine serum albumin. This is a protein derived from cow's blood. I know it sounds gross, but it is no different than eating a steak. Many people really like the different Nectar flavors, especially added to juice or Crystal Light.
As Kathy suggested, what about other types of nuts. I rely on almonds as a daily mid-day snack. Perhaps a nutrition consult might be in order. My husband has terrible allergies, mainly to environmental allergens, and he often gets horrible sinus infections as a result.
I hope these allergy results will be the tool you need to have a much, much healthier year 2007!!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
