Topic: Biopsies are done... now I wait...
First of all, I want to thank everyone for the great comments my new photos I posted the other day! Appreciate all the kind words. It really feels good to feel good about myself and see myself as attractive, somewhat glamourous, etc. A bit of a foreign concept.
Of course, having those feelings were too quickly overshadowed by my routine mammogram Thursday which turned out to be not-so-routine and the biopsies yesterday which really sucked. Pfffft to that. LOL!
I wanted to also thank all of you for the kind thoughts on my issue. The biopsies were done yesterday. It was a long day. It was time-consuming and very, very awkward (left arm up, right arm down, right breast through hole in the table like a cow's utter hanging down). I had to lay like that without moving for what seemed like an eternity. My left shoulder got frozen, my ear and jaw hurt, my right arm went numb as did my legs. The biopsies themselves didn't hurt because of the local anesthesia. Some sensation but no real pain. Very funky having breast tissue sucked out like a mini-vacuum. Lucky I didn't think too much about it while laying there.
I went back to work for a few hours after the biopsies and came home and crashed. Eventually the anesthesia wore off and owie. Three quarters of my boob was sore. And since it flops around... that made matters worse so I had to keep a sports top on to keep it reigned in so it didn't hurt as much. Funny... having 4 surgeries in 1.5+ years... this bothered me in some ways more than the other stuff pain-wise. Bizarre. Or maybe my memory is poor on those. It wasn't easy sleeping/moving during the night. Things are much better already today.
The doctor is supposed to call me on Tuesday with the results. I'll be able to get them over the phone. I'm prepared as one can be under these cir****tances. Logic tells me 80% of these types of biopsies are benign. But reality reminds me of what my sister went through this year. She is doing very, very well. And that helps me too.
So once again...thanks and more thanks to you all!
Love,
Kathy

I will get in at least 3 workouts a week and try to get my meds in on the weekend. Through the week I am fine but the weekend I just loose it. I am looking forward to reporting my progress.

Topic: Hi, Group from the Redwoods
I mostly have been participating in my local support groups are Stanford, Other LapBand groups, and in the last few months Plastic Surgery groups. Yes, I was the first LapBander to have Plastic Surgery at Stanford. I had a TT paid for by insurance because the loose skin was pulling on my lower back. I was training constantly for marathons, and had to stop. LapBandere work a little harder to loose weight because we don't have the malabsortion issues.
I was about 30 lbs from goal, but had to get the panni off if I was going to continue to vigorously exercise and loose more weight. So at 18 months I'm on a roll again.
Life is great. I'll need to get some new pictures up. Nice to to check in with all of you. We made it this far!!!
