Welcome to OH. You have come to the right place. I know I have many second and third and fourth thoughts. As long as your husband is willing to support your choice, it will be a lot easier. My husband was scared silly. I had the RNY done as the lap band is not covered in Canada. I, too, have had enough of being overweight. My concern is I am 45 and as yet have no other health problems besides "super morbid obesity" BMI 54.8 at start. I am 7 days out. I am happy I have made a choice to be healthy, but I really miss the old unhealthy eating days. I am sure that will get better, especially as I lose weight. No on can really tell you what you should do or not do. Ultimately, you are the one to feel the effects of your choice. It will not matter what you do, everyone will have different opinions. It is like being overweight, some people treat us with respect and some people can't get past the excess weight. Research as much as you can, the more knowledge, the better informed you will be. Good luck

Good luck and safe recovery. If you can get through the pre-surgical jitters, you can get through anything. 7 days out, RNY.

Hi The last couple of days are the hardest, at least it was for me. I hope you have a supportive family/friends with you during this time. It is a time of constant doubts and second guessing. Try to keep busy, make sure you have everything ready for when you get home. I have a couple of shakers, lots of small, small bowls, measuring cups etc so that I can have the dishwasher on once per day. Make sure you have your protein on hand. I went out and bought a nice housecoat for the hospital. I bought gifts for my husband and son along with cards telling them how much I appreciated all their support. Take it one minute at a time. If you are anything like I was, you will feel so much better afterwards. Good luck, Safe and fast recovery!!

Welcome home Cheryl Glad to hear things are going good for you. I am 7 days out and feeling pretty good at 45 yrs. It is sorta scarey on the first day, with all the amount restrictions. What surgery did you have and what is stage 3? I had RNY and am on the full fluid for another 8 days. Welcome to the losers bench!
