Can't help you out on the hernia thing. I just had my late 6 (7) month check up and was found to be PERFECT!! Obviously he didn't look at the loose skin on my belly, my lack of a butt, sagging ta ta's, lot's less hair on my head or those tiny wrinkles around my eyes. LOL Mesh..hmmm drywall tape comes to mind! Try wearing a tummy control undergarment like Flexees or such. Giving you some support in your belly. It should help you get through your training. And just think how good you are going to look in the gown this time! Jen

Topic: gurrr!!! a hernia
So I have had this cough for like a week or so and one day I heard this popping noise in my stomach. I felt my belly and coughed. It felt like popcorn was popping in my stomach and this bulge came out. I freaked out and made my mom feel it. She said "you better call your surgeon". So I called and they said it may be a hernia. I scheduled an appointment for the next day. Went to the doc and sure enough he said "you have an incisional hernia" Seriously? Seriously. I mean it seems it has been 1 thing after another since I had my open RNY. So then the doc says that I need to have surgery to fix this hernia thing. He said 3 weeks off work. What? huh? I just started a new position at work and I am in training for the next 3 weeks that I cannot miss. So what do I do? It hurts mainly when I cough or strain too much, but I can deal with it. I am just going to wait until the training is done then have my surgery. He said that he would put this mesh stuff in my hernia. Mesh? Don't you use that for fishing or something? Doesn't Adidas make mesh pants? Am I going to have a jumpsuit in me? j/k you gotta have some sense of humor at a time like this. I don't think it's the hernia part thats getting to me. I think it is the actual surgery. The hospital, needles, scars, un flattering gowns, mean nurses who wake me up every hour. I just don't want to have to do this again. I apoligize for the rant but I wanted to let y'all know. If you have ever had a hernia, can you give me some advice?

Debbi, You are not odd, I feel the same way now more than ever. Maybe its the salt that I am eating at my meals? But shrimp? I guess since it comes from the ocean, which is sal****er....umm, being blonde here. But I experience it with chili and chicken and other stuff too. I don't know why were are unquenchable just that we are. Perplexing... Anybody got anything on this? Belinda

Does anyone else experience thirst after eating? I get my fluid intake every day. But, while I am eating a immediately after, I am thinking about drinking water. I don't know if it is all in my head, but I am so thirsty right after a meal. that's odd, isn't it? Thanks, D.
