Topic: RE: Are you moving to lose? What is your tool
I do treadmill EVERY morning.... Tuesday and Friday I do 45 mins, Mon,Wed, Thurs I do 60 mins and on Sat and sun I do 70 -90 mins. I want to make it varied plus the shorter days I start work earlier.
I also do aquafit 3 nights a week...I was doing 4 but recently cut back. The pool is just too dang cold. I am considering dropping to 2 times a week...we will see.
I should be doing some strength training but don't have a lot of time.

Some day's my 12's are a bit too baggy but I don't think I could fit into a 10 yet. And if I don't, well that's OK!
I also got what wanted out of my RNY...better health. No diabetes meds, and off a host of other meds that I took for years. I still have high blood pressure and some depression/anxiety issues and that's OK. We had company come around New Years. We went to a local museum with them and I climbed the stairs without even thinking about it. When I got to the top I realized that all other times I took the elevator up. What a great feeling!
I'm loving my tool!

I've been doing stength training or upper body the whole time since I was cleared for exercise. My arms and upper back/chest look pretty good if I do say so myself! I recently added resistance band's for a lower body workout and do many stair climbing daily( the old fashioned way....on stairs!)
Cleo, I may be getting a bike next month..we may have to take a ride!

Deb,
Good for you for loosing those 3 lbs. My scale died and I havent remembered to get new batteries for it.
Thank God that you got him to the hospital. He may have gone into a diabetic coma had you not gotten him there.
I was diabetic preop taking insulin 2x a day, 2 different types of insulin. As of 7 days post op, I no longer needed any diabetes meds!
good luck to both of you.

Oh my goodness Deb! Thank the Lord that you got him to the hospital and determined what was wrong. Why are men sooooo stubborn? Sheesh!
I have 2 brothers with diabetes and had gestational diabetes with my first child and my oldest brother didn't take care of himself and had to have a kidney transplant, has heart problems and lost his leg due to this horrible disease. When my other brother was diagnosed was when I said, "I'm not waiting any longer to get the ball rolling of this surgery."
I'm glad to hear he's taking this serious and is changing his lifestyle and eating habits. Glad to hear it's benefiting your journey as well (way to find a positive) Love that kind of attitude!
Pam
