Cleo Don't feel guilty. Some of the issues some of us have had, we would have had without surgery. I just thank god daily, I no longer take the 8 meds I used to take daily 9 months ago. I am down to just my antidepressants. I wish I could leave them behind, but they are just part of my life. Pam

Topic: Feeling Guilty...
After hearing about difficulties others are having (hernias, mesenteric cysts, kidney problems - oh my!), I feel a little guilty posting about what a smooth ride these 9 months have been for me! Not that WLS has been the "easy way", but my body seems to have been cooperating with me in so many ways. Hard to believe that after so many years (and years and years) of abuse, it is being so kind to me now. Had my 9 month post-op check up this week. The dr said he'd like to clone me since I've had no problems with food tolerance, I'm still getting in 90+ g of protein and 64+ oz of water daily, and exercising 4-5 times each week. He actually referred to me as an "athlete" based on the amount of exercise I get (what a joke - he should see how uncoordinated I am!). When I said I'm hungry a lot, he told me to eat more. Yikes! It will be hard to get used to losing weight even MORE slowly and the thought of gaining weight while trying to gauge how many calories I can take in without weight gain is really scary. I'm less than a pound from my initial goal (dr wouldn't set one for me; said it's all in how I feel), but I want to lose another 5 pounds before my surgiversary in June. We'll see... Best wishes to all the Junesters! Cleo
