Kendra- Congratulations on being down 94 lbs! That is great!! I had my surgery 1 day after you did, and just had a checkup with my surgeon. He asked how much milk I was drinking, and he said that milk is one of thebest sources of protein for the body. I drink about 2 glasses of skim milk a day. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem! Why don't you try ground beef with chili powder garlic powder and onion powder. i would say use taco seasoning but it has carbs in it and that's not where I want to get mine from!
Anyway FINELY shred some lettuce. Chop some tomato (just the outside no seeds and a bit of finely chopped green pepper.) Mix that all together and add just a tiny bit of plain yogurt. That's the only way I can eat meat. If the chuncks of meat are too big, pulse just the cooked meat in a food processor. Like I said that's the only kind of meat I can do. It's yummy too.
Fell free to email me and I can send you some recipes I have.

I can't believe it - one week shy of 4 months and I'm down 94 lbs. What a whirlwind the last 4 months have been. Rollercoaster of emotions and physical challenges, but it has been worth it. I am venturing out with some foods now. I still haven't tried any milk as I was told to think of it as liquid sugar. But, I would love a bowl of cereal with skim milk. I would like to hear other's experiences with milk, skim, etc. I'm already looking forward to a tummy tuck next summer. It can't come fast enough for me.

Topic: RE: BREAD
My surgery was July 15 and I can not handle bread inless it is toast and not all time does that work
Topic: RE: BREAD
I have found that I can eat Ezekiel Bread and I love it. It is quite dense since there is no flour in it just the grains. It comes from the receipe that is listed in the Bible in the book of Ezekiel. You can find this bread in most heath food stores I buy it at Trader Joes where it costs half the price. Each slice has 4 grams of protien. Try a piece of toast with natural peanut butter on it and you have a meal with 13 grams of protien! I find it hard to finish the whole peice since it's so dense, but boy it will keep you full all day.

Thank goodness I found this site! I am glad I'm not the only one who can't eat bread. I even have trouble with breading on fish, shrimp, etc. I am able to eat some cereals, but not most, and occasionally a Lean Pocket, but even then, it sometimes just burns and hurts. My surgery date was 7/25/03.

Hi, I had WLS, the RNY on July 15, 2003 and I cannot eat chicken, turkey, eggs, lettuce, cabbabge etc.) Keep trying them every 10 days or so, I have tried finely scrammbled hamburger mixed with spaghetti sauce and can eat a small amount of that, but that is it for meat. I've tried some tuna, but I have to add so much mayo, then it is to heavy in my stomach. Refried beans, vegetable soups, protein bars, cottage cheese, crackers, tortia chips, dried fruits are some of my staples at this point. Down 58 pounds. Good luck, hope the meat thing changes in time for all of us.
