20 Questions Time again!
I have not been around lately, but I am gonna try and be back a little more. I have lost 141 pounds so far and am 5 pounds away from goal. Here are the answers to the questions.
1) As we approach the 10 month mark (damn- time does fly), think back-- what is your biggest "WOW" moment you have had? When did you have it and how did it make you feel?
It had to be when I had to write a check and they asked for ID. The cashier did not believe I was the person in the Drivers License Picture and called her manager over. I ended up having to get another picture ID out (Sam's Club with a recent picture). Was too cool. I had this at about 8 months out and I laughed for a long time about it. Felt awesome.
2) What was the primary reason you decided to have WLS surgery? Had you been thinking about it a long time,or not?
My family (neices and nephews) were my main reason, but my job was a close second. I am a high school health teacher and felt like I could not do my job properly the way I was. I had been thinking about it for a while but did not have the nerve. The final straw was my high blood pressure (back to normal now).
3) How many states in the US have you been to (airports and drive-thrus count)? What is your favorite city in the US.
I have been to 10 states. My favorite is Michigan. Michigan is my home and I love it here. No favorite city, though.
4) If money was not an object- what is the one place you want to visit the most (that you haven't yet been to)?
I would go on an African Safari. This is my dream vacation and can't wait 'til the day I can go.
5) Do you get up early in the morning or are you a 'snooze-hitter?'
I usually get up before the alarm goes off (not lately, though). I like to get to work early to get my work done and leave right after. I don't want to stay late when I can get out and enjoy the weather.
6) How long have you known your best friend? What is he/she like?
I have known my best friend for 18 years. He was not my best friend, though, for about 9 years though. He was my sophomore football coach. We became colleagues and have become best friends since. He is a great mentor and person.
1) As we approach the 10 month mark (damn- time does fly), think back-- what is your biggest "WOW" moment you have had? When did you have it and how did it make you feel?
I think my biggest "Wow" moment was a few months ago in Kohl's. I was shopping with my mom and realized that I could now shop at Kohl's for me! I could finally 'fit' into clothes from there again. It made me feel so great! I started to cry, to be honest. I'm a baby.
My 2nd biggest "wow" moment was at the end of February when I flew to NC by myself. I didn't have the safety/comfort of someone I knew sitting beside me where I could absorb their extra space. So, I was very concerned about going alone. I didn't take up anyone's space except my own and I cried in my seat as the airplane took off.
WOW!
2) What was the primary reason you decided to have WLS surgery? Had you been thinking about it a long time,or not?
The primary reason that I had WLS was because I have a young daughter who will be starting school soon. I was afraid that I wouldn't be around to see her go to school and if I were, that she would get made fun of for having a fat mommy.
3) How many states in the US have you been to (airports and drive-thrus count)? What is your favorite city in the US.
If I haven't forgotten any, I have visited 16 states. My favorite city is New York City or maybe Los Angeles.
4) If money was not an object- what is the one place you want to visit the most (that you haven't yet been to)?
Australia
5) Do you get up early in the morning or are you a 'snooze-hitter?'
I don't get up early, per se, but I do get up as soon as the alarm goes off (if it is set). If not, I get up when the cat or my daughter wake me up.
6) How long have you known your best friend? What is he/she like?
I have known my b/f for 22 years. She is a differnt sort and it is amazing we have remained friends. She's a great person, though
