Topic: Holiday traditions in your family?
Hi July family! Just wanted to wish everyone a great holiday season, and thinking about the things we do every year, wondered what others do on Christmas? Our family has a huge get together on Christmas Eve, (all aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) and has a (of course) lots of food--everyone brings something-- and everyone brings a gift, Ladies a ladies gift, men, a men's gift, and we do the "Chinese gift exchange" . Draw numbers and #1 opens a gift, #2 can open or take away #1's gift, etc, etc. Gets to be alot of fun when you get down to #15 or so! We let the little ones open a gift first so they have something to play with while the adults do their gift thing. It's total chaos by nights end, but loads of fun. Then on Christmas day, we have a layed back, just the immediate family quiet meal, and maybe catch a movie. This year, our Dallas Cowboys play so that will be the evening entertainment.
So what are your plans, traditions, that you do each year?

Tim, love this tribute to your dad. I believe he is so proud of you and what you have accomplished this past year. My dad passed away in 1987 and I was just thinking of him this week realizing that it will be 20 years this summer! I will never forget how quick he left us. But I agree with your line "I cry, I laugh, I remember...." As long as I have our wonderful memories he will always be with me. {{{{Hugs}}}} to you, call your brother, and remember together. ----Debbie

I love the low sugar peanut butter! I have a little most afternoons on a Club multi grain cracker. I also, like the baby carrots with a little ff ranch dressing. This helps with my "I need to crunch something" Fruit, love anything in that line but like Pam, I do tend to have carbs too often. (The snack pack of micro-popcorn is my downfall. ) Maybe this is why I can't lose those last pounds.............
Thanks for making me think Malibu!

Has it been a year already?
Why did you have to go so soon
There's so much more I wanted to say
So much more I wanted to do
I'd give anything just to hear your voice
To go fishing again
Play one more game of cribbage
We tried so hard to see you before you left
But it just wasn't enough
And now I must live with that knowledge
You tried too, fighting to stay
But in the end you had to answer the fathers call
So today I remember
I cry, I laugh and I remember
I hear your voice again in my heart
I'll think of you when I fish
I'll call my brother and we'll play cribbage
And as long as you stay in my heart, you never left

I do eat a hard boiled egg or a mozz cheese stick.
Celery or an apple with peanut butter (no sugar added type).
And then the rest of the time I eat carbs, which aren't low cal snacks, so I won't list them here.

Topic: RE: Are you cold?
Yes, always since the weight loss. More this winter than last winter.
I'm hoping it gets better as my body adjusts to the lower weight, but if it doesn't - I prefer cold to fat.

Low calorie snack.
I'm looking for something to nibble on that I won't feel guilty about.
Currently I still like:
Tomatoes and cucumbers with salt, pepper, balsamic and a little bit of italian dressing.
~OR~
Pickles! Yum! I know they make you retain water, but I'd rather retain water than calories.
Whatcha got?
