Topic: A Christmas Poem
It's been too long since I wrote on of these
Seasonal silliness!
There once was a jolly old elf
Who stored all his gifts on a shelf
Until late in December
As I seem to remember
When he takes quite a task on himself
To fly 'round the whole world in one night
An often precarious flight
And attempt distribution
Of his toy contribution
Oh what a spectacular sight!
In a sleigh that is pulled by reindeer
He flies both afar and so near
To deliver the toys
To the good girls and boys
And all of that great Christmas gear
There's one thing that I just have to know
Where'd he come up with that whole "HO HO HO"
So I'll leave him a treat
Milk and cookies to eat
To consume before he has to go
So to Santa I'd just like to say
Before you fly off in your sleigh
From the Kings to the peasants
Thanks a lot for the presents
And take care as you go on your way

Amy,
I tried clicking on the link, but it doesnt work. Anyhow, some people are just rude, insensitive to other people's feeling and have no couth (i hope i spelled that right?) Anyhow, you dont need those type of people and ya know, what goes around comes around. Dont worry about them, you have people on this site that care!

Hi Dave! I just love your posts. You are so uplifting. I love the holidays but I know they are hard for many. I remember those tough years, the Christmas after my father passed away, the first one after my divorce when I was no longer a "couple" and felt so out of place and alone. But time heals, and new memories emerge and we grow in the journey of life. I do love the holidays, the traditions old and new. And I love to some nights just sit and look at the tree...... Merry Christmas to you all here.
Debbie

How fortunate you are to have found someone you can spend a lifetime with who can, and is willing to share your memories and work together for something.
A rare thing indeed, Dave darling - give your wife an extra kiss tonight and remember all those of us who so deeply want what you are so fortunate to have.
loveya,
nan

Topic: This weekend we tran...
This weekend we transformed the house for Christmas. Marge crafts and makes baskets for fellow 7th grade teacher's birthdays and she has two this month so I did most of the decorating. What a day: we've had 36 Christmas celebrations as husband and wife. Our tree reflects those. So many ornaments have positive histories behind them. As we've traveled, we have bought ornaments to remind us of our travels, and I found myself enjoying so many pleasant memories. There have been some highly emotional Christmas's too, and yes, we bought ornaments then and I remembered those too.
The holidays for many is a very difficult time. For me, it's about enjoyment, reconnecting, reenergizing, and counting blessings... and now it's cementing even more as I reflect on our family's lives and those the Rigsby's have touched. Celebrate the holiday of your blessed choice.
What a gift!
Enjoy the days ahead.
With the spirit of peace, love, and harmony,
Dave

Thanks for posting that web site...I have been looking for something like that for awhile now.
I don't really count calories...I just try to eat protein with every meal and I eat smaller meals (most of the time).
For example,
B - RB and FF cheese sandwich on WW bread
SF Decaf Vanilla latte
S- yogurt and apple
L- Turkey and FF cheese sandwich on WW bread (or english muffin or mini pita)
S- string cheese and 2 choc. graham crackers (helps with sweet cravings)
D- Grilled chicken salad
S- skinny cow
I have been losing 2-3 lbs. a week eating like this and really watching my carbs.
Good luck and hopefully your weight will start falling now that you are writing things down...I know for me it really has helped!
Jamie
