Topic: RE: Friday Five - Weekly Update!
1. What types of food did you eat this week? All the normal stuff, but I did eat from the salad bar when we went out to dinner last night and they had fresh Edamame - I was in heaven, I really like that stuff and was happy to get in lots of protein without eating diced lunchmeat, when I saw it that's what made me decide to get the salad bar.
2. What types of exercise did you do this week? Water aerobics and waking
3. How much weight did you lose? 2 more pounds Total loss? 170 gone forever! 5 more pounds and I'll be in onderland!!
4. What was your biggest challenge? Drinking enough. Also, I'm finding that after aerobics I'm very hungry feeling, it's so easy to pick up junk, so I'm working to grab something high in protein first.
5. Has your sex drive changed? Yes, but it varies, which is weird to me, sometimes I can't get enough, others times I don't want any. If you don't feel comfortable answering this question, how are do you feel about your physical appearance at this point? I'll answer this too - I'm thrilled! I'm so much smaller, I've got a shape again, and I have a neck, something I don't ever remember having before! I wear necklaces all the time now.
*Fun bonus question:
If you had to be trapped in an elevator with one talk show host (night or day), who would it be? What types of conversations would you like to have?
OK this is tough - When I worked at Dodger Stadium I was once trapped by myself on an elevator for 4 hours - I was very glad I was alone, so I didn't have to deal with a panicky person. Of course I was constantly on the phone with people checking on me, but still it was not as bad as it could have been.
I think someone like Montel could be calm, and interesting. We could talk about his Naval career, the causes he believes in, all sorts of things. I don'****ch his show so we couldn't talk about that though ...lol!

Hey Amber,
I'm 5'6. I feel the same way, I'm thankful everyday I had surgery. I know it's easy for me to get discouraged when I hear of everyone losing more weight than I have.. ( I know, I know we've been told a million times not to compare ourselves to others) lol Overall I know I'm much healthier now, feel 10 times better than I did a year ago..
You're right, we will get there

Thanks, Jan. You're always a great support. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm happy with me, I just still get discouraged, but I am so better off than I was a year ago, it's working out wonderniffly! Have a great day!

Thanks, girl. I think you're right, I just wi**** weren't true. Who wants to gamble with eating a lot of crap regularly to keep your weight up. I don't like that idea. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement, it helps a lot!

That's is amazing! How cool is that? How tall are you???? I think I'll be lucky to stay in the 180's as well. I feel so blessed and I love where I'm at, I think I'm starting to settle into it now that I've been at 199 for a couple of days. I just wanted out of the 200's. I get discouraged when people always ask me how much I've lost NOW, like I'm suppose to keep putting up numbers or something. It's all in my head and I'll get past it eventually. I just get discouraged from time to time! I just voice it here more because you guys know what I'm going through for the most part! Keep working at it, we'll both get there!

Topic: Tried a new product
Last night at our OH support group our leader had some sample products for us to try from Smart Forme.
We tasted both the Chili and the Sour Cream and Onion flavored soy snacks. Each packet is 120 cal. 7-8 carbs. and 15g of protein.
These were the best tasting little snacks I've had in a long time! I swear the sour cream and onion tasted just like Lay's chips!
I tried to go online last night to see about buying them ... but they aren't listed on their website. So today I contacted them and they told me they will be available starting next week. Only two flavors to start with - Chili and then Garlic/Parsley. They come in individual packages.
They also offer a Chocolate Soy Crisp that we tasted last month, it was good - at first - then it had that whey tasting after taste and I didn't care for it.

Congratulations Amber! I think your looking great and just look at how much closer you are to your goal!
I've reached a point where the weight loss has slowed greatly. I'm still dropping sizes though. I swear if I would just loose 7 more pounds I'd be the happiest person on earth ... it would put me in Onderland! To think I started at 374 pounds, less than 11 months ago.
I can honestly say I would still be OK if I didn't loose anymore, I'm just so much happier and healthier than this time last year. Of course I know this isn't over yet.

Hi Amber, Congratulations.
I think it's amazing that you and I have the same SW, CW and goal weight. lol I am trying to be positive but I'm just not losing like I was before. I think I'll be lucky to stay in the 180's-190's. Which is way better than 321lbs.. so I'll take that.. lol
Keep it up and once again Congratulations..

You look great!
Congratulations!
Just a note on how you might lose weight while 'eating like crap'... have you kept a strict account of the calories you are taking in? I have a sneaking suspicion that your body possibly wants more calories to raise up its metabolic rate. So when you are eating 'crap' its shot up the calories and your body says, "OH THANKS!" and burns off some more of its fat stores.
Just a thought.
