Please help :BCBC nj direct 15 question; Anyone from NJ I'm waiting for approval

I am waiting for approval and I am just a little nervous. My BMI is just a little low 35.9 and I am 95 llbs overweight. I have the on-set of diabetes w/o medication, asthma, joint and knee pains. I have to do a sleep study and I heard it takes 2 weeks to get the result( no idea what to expect). My surgery is schduled in 11 day, will I be done in time or will they push my date back? I have my blood work this week and it so close to my surgery. Is there a reason doctors wait so close to surgery to ask the insurance for the approval? Can anyone tell me what to expect when I go to do my blood work?

My Dr. would not even schedule surgery until we hear from the insurance. I am surprised yours scheduled surgery without prior approval. Most insurance companies I thought required you to be 100 pounds over weight buth things are always changing. Judy

its possible your dr. feels confident that u will be approved due to other physical conditions caused by your weight. Sleep study is simple they hook u up to wires and u sleep.lol no pain. my blood work was checking for blood type and how long blood takes to coagulate. it was 4 vials but its really no big deal.
