Yummy frozen salmon patty at Trader Joe's

Dennis..
I am still reeling over your last post I read...I was busting the gut with laughter...I heard the other day that for every 15 minutes you laugh you burn 40 calories...
I love salmon and will try to see if I can figure out how to cook this..not much of a cook...I think it is great that you are upping your protein..I get a minimum of 70 every day..and depending on the day more than that...I also drink 90-100 oz of water....
You are gonna break this stall!!!

Dennis,
Glad you found something you like! Salmon didnt agree with me.
I recently asked my doc about "too much protein" and he said that over 90 on a regular basis can effect the liver. He told me to stick to between 60-70 a day. Of course if I have an isopure or something..there is 50 right there. Just be careful not too over do it. Sometimes I wonder, as a gastric bypass patient how much my body really absorbs.
Keep up the good work Dennis

Deb, I'd never heard that one before, about the protein, it sounds weird because "normal" people eat way over 100 grams of protein a day, and I mean way over that. Does the liver damage just happen to people with WLS? I heard (don't know if it's true) that the body only abosrbs like 30gms per certain time line ...even if you take a drink with 60gms of protein it only takes like 30, I should investigate further. I'm not sure of anything though..

Im learning that every doc says something different! LOL My protocol in my WLS book says to get between 70-80 so thats what i shoot for. If I fail, I have a ISOPURE shake before I go to bed with 50 grams of protein.
I can only tell ya that I have alot of energy and am feeling back to normal with eating like this

Hi sweet thing...your post about the protein I would totally agree on...and my doctor says you can't get enough protein. I will ask him on Wed. ok...the salmon patty from Trader Joe's in the frozen section...pretty good...it was in my freezer...so I tried it..of course fresh is much better...but it worked...take care and protein, protein is what our Calif. doctors say...
