When you're checking on group rates, ask if you can speak to a casino host; they may be able to do a better group rate than you'll be quoted just by calling the reservation desk. Be sure to let them know you are bringing a group and give an estimate of how many rooms your group will book. Also, if you think this may become an annual event, let them know that as well. If they think you'll bring repeat business back to their facility, they can sometimes cut you a better deal.
The other thing you want to find out is whether there are any big conventions in town during the dates you are looking into. You may be able to get that information from a casino host... If so, I would suggest picking different dates; the hotels/casinos charge higher rates during the bigger conventions because, well, they can get away with it. So you don't want to be paying convention prices if you aren't there for the convention.
Anyway, just a few thoughts from someone who's done some Vegas travel. Good luck find a great rate in a nice place!

I have not had this happen to me yet, but I'm sorry it happened to you. Some people need to have their social filters adjusted so they can stop themselves from saying stupid, inappropriate things.
Please don't let his comments keep you down. You've worked too hard and accomplished too much to be brought down by someone's insensitivity. Keep your chin up and be proud of what you've done; we're proud of you!

It was very hard on me at first because I never lied about my surgery and told eveyone at work so all the attention and comments I got kind of surprised me. Most people never asked how I was doing just how much weight have you lost now. Also they would always make comments on how little I could eat or just seem to be watching how much I eat. I always wonder if they are just waiting forme to fail. So I can see how a comment like that would bother you. But we have to remember the only one we are responsible for is ourselves and we can only be hurt or bothered by others comments if we let them bother us it is no different than when we were fat and people would make comments. So ignore you co worker and next time someone makes a comment like that smile and say thanks for caring. That will really throw them off guard.

At this point in my life I'm not much for counselors and there are no support groups in my area that is why I'am so glad I happend to stumble onto this website. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply as far as the breast surgery is say Go for it ! We deserve it there is no reason we should not look as good on the outside as we feel on inside. I think sometimes we forget that or worry about appearances or even the $$$ lets splurge we deserve it.

Speak for yourself. Way to go by surpassing your weight goal. You look awesome I just love before and after pictures. Because most of the time you would never of known the person had a weight problem. I had my picture taken for my job which I have to wear. Alot of my patients have been asking me why I dont look like my picture or who is the person on my name tag because it cant be you. I will never change my name tag just for that reason it's a good reminder of where you came from and how far you have come.

I would prefer on strip. The hotels I've narrowed it down to are New York, New York; Luxor (which actually has pretty good rates); Bally's and Circus Circus. Like I mentioned before I'm very particular about where I sleep (does that make me stuck up)? I think sharing rooms is a good thing. I wasn't sure if I was going to bring my mother and son but I'll do what the group does. I planned on coming in early Thursday and leaving early Sunday (the 25th is my birthday). The 23-25 is the cheaper of the two weekends. The problem is we're in the middle of Spring Break which is why our prices are a little highter. I hope I didn't ramble too much!
