Pat Collins Update

I talked with Pat's sister today about 3 pm. She said that Dr Goco now thinks she has a leak in her intestine! I asked what was he going to do about it & right now he plans on letting it heal itself!!!! Anyway this very sweet lady needs all the prayers that we can send up. She is in Forsythe Medical Center & her phone # is 336-718-7449. They have also hooked her back up to the wound vac for her incision.

Can you let a leak heal itself??????????Sounds fishy to me. Anyone else seen this Dr. Goco? He is really making me wonder. I will keep her in my prayers. LaDonna -20lbs

Dr Goco is a very good DR he has been doing this surgery since 1975 He is also my Dr and verry goood

Dear Debbie, A leak in the intestine is called Peritonitis. I hope I spelled that right. It can poison the whole body. I don't see how it is possible to heal itself. Where is all her "poop" going? She hasn't gone in 2 weeks. I don't know what is going on but I am beginning to wonder about this doctor. Sounds weird to me. Diane

Thank you for the update Debbie Whats this about it healing itself???? that also sounds strange to me too!!! Maybe she should suggest a new surgeon he sounds a bit off his rocker to me Is he giving her any antibiotics for the peritonitis?? that is dangerous stuff and not to be played around with. I want to rephrase my post. Peritonitis is caused when there is a leak or rupture in the colon. I was so upset I wrote it wrong. Diane

Hi Debbie, I just tried to call Pat and it was busy. When you talk to her again, would you please let her know I am thinking about her and sending prayers to my God for comfort and healing. I did mange to send an email to Susan Butler at Baptist Hospital (she is with Fuzz) in hopes that Pat could move to Baptist and be treated by Fuzz. I explained to her what is happening to Pat. She suggested the family get in touch with the hospital Social Worker to help in changing physicians. Can you please let Pat and her sister know about this option. They really need to act quickly for Pat's sake. I have been terrible about not calling or posting this last week or so, I am so wrapped up in my custody battle that I have lost track of everything. We are leaving tomorrow and court is Wednesday morning at 10 am. Please say a prayer too for me and my daughter. Thanks for the update on Pat. Take care, Barbara

Great suggestion Barabara. I too think she should change doctors. I was told that possibly Dr. Kellam has been called in also (which I believe she is Dr. Goco's wife), but I would personally like to see Pat away from Forsyth, nothing against the hospitial, but I just have so much trust in Dr. Fuzz.
