Topic: New show on The Learning Channel

For all of you that have cable tv and get The Learning Channel, Starting on Monday of next week they will begin broadcasting a new show called Big Medicine. I'm looking forward to this and I'm hoping to glean more information and help out of it also. It will be on Monday evening sometime. I look forward to watching it and seeing what goes on.

I was pretty much the same at that stage too.  I am 10 weeks out and in just the last couple of  weeks have I gotten energized.  It is amazing.  I've been extremely disappointed with my weight loss, it's been so slow.  I've only lost 43 lbs and 17 of those were in the week just before the surgery and the week after.  Since then, it's just been so slow and then to not have energy either, I was having doubts about my decision to have had the surgery.  Well, I'm still not losing fast, even went a whole week without ANY loss, but I do have ALOT more energy.  I'm exercising an hour every day, either treadmill, stationary bike and bowflex.  A couple of days ago I did a half hour on the treadmill, a half hour on the bike, then I did three loads of laundry, dusted and vacuumed the house and mowed the lawn, all before noon!  Just hang in there, it will come and you will be amazed.  After years of feeling like a big lump, I can't believe how much I'm moving around now.  It will happen to you too.  You are still recovering from major surgery.

Topic: Exhaustion
Am I expecting too much, but I am three weeks out and if I don't get a nap I am exhausted. All else is going well...eating ok and fluid intake is ok. But dang, I am tired.

Topic: RE: OT- Is anyone from the Delta Junction area? Moving there soon.
Delta is about a 2 hr drive from Fairbanks where you will probably do a lot of shopping. FBKS has WalMart, Fred Meyer, SAMS Club, Safeway, Old Navy, Barns & Noble, Sportsman's Warehouse, etc. so you won't feel like you're totally out of touch! I grew up in Fairbanks and have friends in Delta. If you were to fly out (for vacation, etc.) you would need to drive to FBKS or Anchorage (I'm not sure how long it takes to get there, but I'm thinking 7+ hrs) and then fly out of there. I suggest getting an Alaska Airlines credit card through Bank of America so you can accumulate miles to fly for free, just make sure you don't carry a balance! The interest rates for these mileage cards are ridiculous! I also suggest getting involved with your kids' school and joining a church...there are always things to do with those organizations. I just moved to Nome and from VERY RECENT experience, you just have to suck it up and get out there to network and find some friends and resources. There are a lot of farmers out there too...my sister's in-laws have a carrot farm and there is a diary near town (yes, a DAIRY!). Just enjoy the experience!

Im not in Delta but pretty much ditto the poster above about Delta Junction.. Fairbanks is much larger but its still not a huge town. We have a few malls but there not much to speak off Most people that live in DJ take a trip to Fairbanks every 1-2 weeks and stock up at Sams Club.
