Whacky WeighIn WeDnEsDaY!!!
Good Morning all....
WWW= no change for me. I didn't get a chance to workout at all this past two weeks. (go to the gym) but I did do my walking with Max and got some miles on the treadmill but never made it to the gym. But since I was sick, I guess that is understandable. This time.
Only 12 more working hours before I am off for 10 days. YAY! We head out tomorrow, to stay in LA because our flight is way early and we take off at 6 AM and I think we land in Florida about 2 PM, then we spend the night there and set sail on saturday about 2 PM Saturday. Then somewhere in that week we stop at St Martin, San Juan, St Thomas and some other island that I can not remember. We fly home next Saturday sometime.
The weather was wonderful yesterday, and I was flipping blessed to be working and never getout and check things out. I hope tomorrow is just as nice so as I am doing my running around, I can at least feel the sun.
I wish you all a great day.

Weigh in today finds me down 5 pounds and sitting at a new low of 206 pounds. Geeze Louise, guess my body isn't ready to quit losing weight yet? I haven't done anything much different except a lot of physical activity the past 5 days so maybe I should have pumped in some protein drinks or something. I know I only ate 2 meals a day and no snacks to speak of and that wasn't a lot of calories in I guess. Anyway I am back to work today and will be back in my routine which helps me stay on track better than weekends. So the tonnage lost is 203 since surgery 65 weeks ago and 230 since August of 2006. Incredible!
I need to update the running tally on the Cali Board weight loss, I missed last week and a couple weeks ago too I think. I'll try to do that this weekend.
D and I are heading back to work today after 5 days off. We had some projects to get done here plus his brother and sister from Denver were in town over the weekend so we took some vaca days Friday, Monday and yesterday. The upside is only three work days this week!
Wishing you, and all the Cali Crew, a Wonderful Wednesday Janine!
Keep doing what you're doing, Keep getting what you're getting.

Good Morning All,
I am up a pound this week.....but all is good.
My appointment with the oncologist went very well yesterday. I have a few "other" issues we're working on, but nothing of immediate concern.
Sometimes we each have things going on in the background that we don't necesarily put out there....but this time I'll throw it out, 'cause you never know who it might help....
Because of my family history of breast and ovarian cancers, one of my sisters (who has had breast cancer twice) and I (ovarian cancer) were tested for the BRCA1/BRCA2 gene mutations......yep, we both have the mutation. So now we head into another whole realm of preventative care.....
All women: Please be diligent in your monthly breast self-exams. Keep those mammogram appointments...as awful as they might be. And although they are no definitive symptoms for ovarian/uterine cancers (except maybe in hindsight), pay attention to what your body is whispering to you.....if it doesn't feel right....maybe it's not.... And of course be sure to have your annual pelvic screenings and the dreaded rectal check (D*mn...I HATE that part!!!).
OK, I'll step down off the soapbox....
Have a great day everyone....I know I'm going to....

Bravo for stepping up and reminding people to take care of their health needs. You are right to say this. I hate those exams but they are so necessary. You can hop on the soap box and remind folks to listen to their bodies women and men alike to get your yearly exams. I will remind them to check their skin. As we all know we don't always listen to our bodies.
Thanks
Liz
I, also, carry the BRCA1 gene mutation. I'm a 6-year breast cancer survivor and know you've got some decisions in front of you. Please feel free to PM me if you ever want to chat.
Here's a website I wanted to share (with you, and anyone else who's lurking) that contains information/support for those with the BRCA1/BRCA2 mutation.

And, I echo you and Liz... people take care of your health!
Wishing you the best!
