I can't believe it has been a year already!!!

Yup, that is right, today is my 1 year Surgiversary ~ WOO HOO!!!!! And what a great year it's been too!!!  105 pounds gone  80 inches gone  diabetes gone  high blood pressure gone  sleep apnea gone But what I've gained is so much more important and that includes all of you great friends I have made here. I couldn't even imagine this wild ride without all of you being a part of it! OH has changed my life as much as my WLS has!!!  Has my year been all good and easy? NOT!!! As most of you know I suffered a few strokes in August and have some residual affects of that. But honestly, I think the WLS may have saved my life with the strokes or definitely made the outcome as good as it was. I feel very blessed to still be alive, walking, and talking!! It could have been much worse. I still have equalibrium issues, major short term memory issues, and depression, but am lucky to be alive!!!   disclaimer for newbies, the strokes had NOTHING to do with my WLS!!!  Hopefully it will be God's will for me to get SSDI for now until I am able to go back to work.  And then there are the alien *****es that are still ever present and make my life hell, on and off! (they are my hernias if you don't know that) Hopefully they will be repaired VERY SOON!!! I am camping in both my neurologists and my surgeons offices next wee****il I get a surgery date! Wish me luck! lol  it's only been about 4 months of dealing with this crap, UGH!!! Tonight I am going out to dinner to celebrate with my 2 surgery twins. Jolene became my best friend in our preop class and Tabitha we met in the hospital and we had fun walking the halls together. We haven't seen Tabitha since the day we left the hospital so it should be a blast!! I can't wait!  So, nobody is home to take my 1 year pictures so they will be up soon, but for now there is these...  this is preop     this is now and this one is just for fun, lol, it is my husband being a dork with my daughter's sunglasses on...He's so cute!!!  THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING A PART OF THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!!!!!   biggest hugs and much love, Becky

Aww Becky! Congratulations!! I know we've only known each other a short while, but I feel like we've been best friends forever! You are a sweet, caring, supportive person and I wish all the best for you, especially when it comes to your alien *****es!!

Thanks honey, I feel the same way!!   Know what's happening with tomorrow yet?  We are probably getting my car tomorrow and doing the DMV stuff, but Mike is always up for eating, so let me know!! lol  biggest of hugs back at ya, Becky

I got the ok from the hubby regarding gas money, so I'll be down in the afternoon - I'd be up for a late lunch, as it only takes me an hour to get down to you. Have fun at the DMV!!! I hate that place... we have Auto Club, so we were able to do all our transactions there (thank GAWD).

So I'll call you tomorrow when I'm on the road!!

Oh ya, we are doing it at AAA, that is what I meant. But actually our DMV isn't too bad most times, but don't tell anyone that!!! lol  looking forward to a late lunch then!!! drive safe honey!!!!   xoxox

Thanks sweetie! I hope your success is as good as mine! We have the same great surgeon and I just friended your daughter. Are you coming with her for her surgery? I want to try to get to the hospital to see her. I'm finally getting a car tomorrow and will have transportation. I'm needing to camp at UCSD and Zorn's offices to get this hernia thing taken care of too, so maybe it can be on the same day!
