relentless hunger

Hi, I'm Fern's mom. She's 18 and had G-bypass surgery 3 weeks ago. She's painfully hungry, all the time. We understood this would stop after surgery? She's started protein, feels well, but is hungry. She swears it is a physical hunger that gnaws at her constantly. Anyone else experience this? Fern's mom.

If I can be honest for a second here.... At 3 WEEKS out, I HIGHLY doubt that it is TRUE hunger.  She is still healing and should be still numb in her surgical area.  What she is more than likely experiencing is HEAD hunger...at that can seem just as real as physical hunger.  Just make sure that she is following her surgeon's protocol to a T and getting in plenty of fluids as possible. Please tell her....that it WILL get better.  If she or you still feel that what she is experiencing is true hunger, then contact her surgeon.  He/she will have the BEST advice to give. Please pass on best wishes and good luck!
