Just wondering if anyone had a port reversal problem.. I went in for my 1st fill after my 6/04/08 surgery and after sticking me about 20 times the Dr. said my port had reversed.. Well I wondered if it did indeed or if he put it in wrong...  Please give me any info you have.... My port also seems kinda close to my skin, I can feel it when I lean up against things and it is kind of tender.. Again is that normal?

some times they get twisted.

Contact Cartwheel8. She is waiting for surgery to correct her port. I'm sure she'd love to hear from someone with the same problem. Susanne

Ports definitely flip and it requires opening you back up to flip them back. You might want to ask your doctor to make sure it doesn't flip again. I've noticed that some lap band patients have problems with them flipping over and over. It's like their body wants it to be that way or something.

I have the lap band and my port flip side ways causing me pain. I can only sleep on one my right side. At the port site on my left side I have a bruise from where the port is rubbing and poking me. The bruise is the size of a dollar coin. As far as bending over this cause me severe pain at the port site too. For other reason besides this problems I have decide to have a revision to the RNY. My surgery is scheduled for July 9th at UCLA. Good Luck.  Cathy
