I don't know anything about Davis, but I have BC /Anthem PPO, and they required that the following steps be completed before even submitting for approval:

--New patient visit
--Psych evaluation
--Attend one support group meeting
--Attend one nutrition class

I began the process on May 1st and I am having surgery next week--less than three months.  My surgeon's office took care of all the paperwork--the process was very smooth.  I hope all goes well for you!

Thanks for the info..What co morb's did you have? I am worried they won't approve me.
Did you have to have 5 years worth of documented health/weight loss history?
I heard someone was denied for not having it.

I have several co-morbs, and my BMI is over 45, so I guess that wasn't an issue for me.  They didn't make me provide sign-in rosters from Weigh****chers, if you are referring to that type of third-party documentation.  They apparently took my word (and/or that of my PCP) that I've tried just about eveything.  Plus I'm 51, and weigh about the same as I did in HS, so it's not a "new" problem for me.

Hi,
I'm currently in their program and had surgery 02/08 with Dr. Fuller and have had a great experience. Surgery was around 2 hours long, no complications. The only thing I don't like is the group meetings, I prefer more one on one discussions.
