What is Schduled Recovery Time Like?

I am carrying an additional 10-15 pounds of loose flesh having lost 150 pounds.  I do not have a support system at the current time and thus, must put off any plans I had for plastic surgery.  Basically, I need the excess folds of skin removed from my stomach area, the inside of my thighs and to have my man-boobs flattened (a bobby tuck?).

First of all, how painful are the surgeries and secondly, what's the average time for recovery?

I'm not worried about finding a plastic surgeon I can afford, seeing as I will be receiving said treatments through the SF VA hospital, while working in conjuncton with specialists from UCSF School of Medicine.

Is it better to have three separate surgeries or try to do it all at once?

I'm not really looking forward to more surgery, but it seems such a shame not to have it especially when you consider that I am half the person today that I was 18 months ago.

Suggestions?

Ciao...

now I haven't had my surgery yet but I did want to tell you I just saw an episode on Big Medicine and almost the whole show was on this topic. The two women I saw had tummy, breast and thighs done and it was all in the same surgery. I also remember the doc saying it will take a good two months for full recovery. I hope that helps  at least a little :)

Warlock...I had a circumfrential lower body lift and my thighs done at the same time. I have to tell you for me the thigh lift was off the hook with pain...that was the worst of it. I have had my whole body reconstructed and the thigh thing was the longest recovery for me. Although between 5-6 weeks out, I was able to get on the elipitcal crosstrainer at a slow pace and get some movement. Honestly depending on your pain tolerence in a couple of weeks you should be moving fairly good depending on what kind of thigh lift you have. I had a crest cut in the groin and around to my buttocks. I have heard that if you are sliced down the thigh it does not hurt as bad for some reason. Just my input and I hope you have a speedy recovery! Good luck!
