Bridal WOW moment.

Nah, I'm not getting married...my friend is and I'm her bridesmaid.

I went to David's Bridal to pick out my dress last night. The bride gave us the color and we could pick our own style.  I've been in a few weddings and I always hated getting fitted for a dress because I didn't want to get measured and no matter how hard the bride tried to be flexible....the dress I wore always looked horrible on me.

I've always been the 'big bridesmaid' in a dress that was cut for a small girl.

I was so happy just to have dresses to choose from that were in my size! From a size 26 last year to a 16 now, that was a WOW moment right there.  I choose a knee-length STRAPLESS dress, and I was actually happy with how I looked and I fit in it!  In fact, she didn't have a size 16 for me to try on and I had to wear a bigger dress that was clipped together down the back.

I had a waist line, I had curves, I was so happy.  I'll be a happy bridesmaid next month.

By the way, can anyone recommend where I can get a good strapless bra?

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

That rocks! I have a girlfriend getting married next year and it's going to be quite an experience..all her attendants WERE bigger girls...now I'm gonna be the odd one out (as usual) but for a good reason! LOL

Congrats on your WOW! I think were gonna need pics of you in that dress!

About the bra, if you don't find a good place closer to you, come on up here and I will take you to see the wizard (Wizard of Bras) in Monrovia...or Duarte...I can never remember which....good place for "wierd" bras.

Congrats Monica!    I just bought a "strapless" bra from Torrid today.  It actually has those transparent straps, but with the dress I bought it looks great.

What a difference a year makes!!!  Congrats on your "transformation".  You have done such an awesome job.....

I went to a wedding last year where the bridesmaids weren't all in the exact same dress....they did what you're doing...all the same color, but a dress to suit each individual body style.  I thought it was VERY attractive.
