Liz gave you some good info, follow that and see how it goes. Your going to get the same answers to the same questions here each time you ask you....:)

Check out Liz's post to you

I have Blue Sheild PPO.  I was approved with lightening speed, with very little pre-op stuff required!  Seriously, when I talked to the nurse at the John Muir Weight Loss Center she was thrilled that I had Blue Shield and said they are the quickest to approve.

I went to my first Appointment the end of May - had my upper GI done mid June, Psych Eval done first of July and was approved after submitting the results in 5 days!  My surgery was on July 31st

Just sharing my experience.  Please feel free to write me if you have any questions!!!!  Best of luck!

I had a BMI of 36, but out of control Type 2 diabetes.

Do you know if it is an HMO or PPO?  Blue Shield has an excellent website.

www.blueshieldca.org  or maybe it is .com

That is exciting information. I hope I have a quick and painless experience like you did. How much out of pocket did you have to pay, If you don't mind me asking?

YOU"RE GOLD with a PPO, I fought the HMO for 1.5 years switched to PPO was approved 9 days after submittal / It took that long because the Dr needed to write a letter of medical necessity, that took a few days.
