In Search of Fremont Kaiser Pts... Where are you??????

I hope I have not already posted on this forum.  But, another OH member recommended that I give a shout out here to see if any Kaiser pts from Fremont are here on the CALI board...

I am having my pre-op on Friday and Wed 9-3-08 is the BIG DAY, but I have a some questions for anyone who went there to have surgery...  The first question is just me being curious and impatient and not wanting to wait until Friday to ask Dr. Dennen if he does the Gastric Sleeve???
I wrote him an email over a week ago and still no answer.  I think he is on vacation resting up for my big surgery!  lol!  He is probably too busy or just wants to talk to me at the pre-op.  But, if anyone knows...  Shoot me a message could ya???  Just curious...

I also just want to know your experiences with the Fremont clinic and hospital no matter what surgery you had.  So, far I have had pretty good luck with them, but I have only been there 3 times and they are always swamped!  How are they about getting people in when they are having troubles and who should I avoid seeing if my Dr. is out.  There is always one bad apple in a bunch!

I am so excited for my surgery.  Even though I still feel a little loony for not being 100% sure on which surgery we are going to  do.  But, I  know Dr. Dennen said that at the pre-op we would finalize everything.  He is really open to which ever one I chose.  He told me my options were LB and RNY.  But, I am wondering if maybe they are doing the sleeve there now????  It is kinda interesting to me.  If no one else knows I will be sure to post it for future OH's Fremont goers!!!

Feel free to read my profile.......Dr Dennen was my surgeon........you will absolutely LOVE him!!! He is the best, and he literally saved my life.

As far as I know, they do not do the gastric sleeve...only the RNY and Lap Band.

The entire staff at Fremont are very professional. I have never had any problems with them at all, not the office staff, nor the nursing staff during my hospital stay.

Yes, they are very, very busy. When I had my surgery 2 years ago, they had 900 patients, and I hear that they have either 2 or 3 thousand now.............wow!

Anyway, you are in the best of care with this guy..........be sure to tell him that Janel says hello!!!

Which of the Nor Cal Kasier offices does the sleeve then?

I thought it was Fremont and So. SF, but I got that from reading this board and I might not have remembered correctly.

Yep, they do the VSG at Fremont.  I don't know about your doc, but Dr.Dutta(sp?) does the sleeve, and that is the doc I chose.  On the VSG forum we have Heather, who is soon to get her pre-op.  She is asking Dr.Dutta for the VSG.  And yes, So.San Fran does the sleeve, as does Los Angeles...Finally, the VSG is getting more popular at Kaiser!  BTW, Iam in Sac also...

I guess I will know tomorrow for sure about the sleeve!

Do you have any before pics.  Is that you with the blonde curly hair?  First of all wow!  And I also wanted to ask if your hair when straighter after surgery?  I heard someone say there curly hair went straight after wls!  OMG!  I would not know how to do my hair...  Mine is so curly and has been my whole life.

Thanks for the info on Dr. Dennen, he is wonderfu to me already... After all he is the one that got my surgery approved despite me not "fitting" the normal requirments.
