Approved and surgery is scheduled!

Good morning! I've been soaking up information from the board for awhile now and would just like to share that my surgery was approved yesterday and I am scheduled for surgery on 10/6/08 - so I'm in count down mood and feeling sooooooooo excited. I have been hoping to connect with some people who may have had or are gonig to have surgery in my area around the same time as myself so that we can support one another. My surgeon is Alan Wittgrove, M.D. I have gotten a wealth of information from this site and I really appreciate everyone's input - it gives me, as a newbie, comfort in knowing that there are individuals out there who experience the same struggles! Thanks to all the veterans for your help and insights!!!

Thanks for all the good wishes. I live in Oceanside and my surgery will be done at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.

I want to wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery with your surgery. I'm not close to Oceanside but I can tell you in my opinion you couldn't ask for a better hospital! Those nurses are great. They attended to my every need and were right there when the fears set in. As a matter of fact one of the nurses that worked in the preop area the morning of surgery had this surgery a few years back. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message. I only had my surgery 8 days ago so it is all pretty fresh in my mind. :)
