Who's Exercising?

I had surgery in nov. and at the end of december---the "little gym" close by my house re-opened--with a great trainer----so I go 4--5  days a week--and (I cannot believe I am writing this) I can't wait to get there!! And then--never want really to leave!!  I do the recombent bike and then weights------then usually I head to the park with my dog for a loop or two---and most recently---THE BEACH!!!
     So...what motivates me???
1) How good I feel just getting there----and of course after--love the endorphins
2) Results!! Showing and feeling strong
3) My dog---yes---- hyper little aussies need lots of exercise!
4) my neighbor with parkinson's---doesn't miss a day at the gym--if he can do it----I have NO excuse to miss it!!
5) and OF COURSE here on the boards----Lola and Monica P, and everyone that has found that they were atheletes as they lose the ##'s!!

I'm still motivated to go but there was a time period when I just could not wait to get off from work to hit the gym!  I know that feeling and burst of energy you have.  It feels great!

Yes, as much as I hated any kind of exercising before, I now can honestly say I really enjoy a good fast walk...even going uphill sometimes.  I really does make me feel good inside....my endorphins just go wild!!!  Remember in the movie Legally Blonde when Elle said something about "endorphins make you happy"....she was right!!

I like your #3 reason....similar to one of mine:  Some days during my chemo treatments I would walk just because.  My daughter would ask why I would push myself like that when I already felt so crappy.  Somehow I had it in my head that I needed to get my blood (with those stinking chemo drugs in it) rushing to every single nook and cranny of my body to kill even the tiniest hidden cancer cells.  It's worked and so far I'm showing NO active cancer.....

I made a leap and bought myself a pair of running shoes and signed up for a 5K training program.  (As I said before....thanks Monica, Kirsten, Cindy, Luanna and Helen...you're all the best motivators!!!)  I start in 2 weeks.

I never thought I would enjoy exercise.  But I love it.  I had foot surgery a couple of months ago (both feet) and it really slowed me down.  But I am slowly getting back normal. (actually I don't know what normal is anymore. lol)

1.  I walk 2 miles every day now
2. I work on the 7th floor, so I take the stairs three times a day.
3. Water aerobics 2 to 3 times per week.

Woo Hoo.  Finally broke the plateau I've been on for the past 2 months.

I am just starting to work out now that I am a little over 7 weeks out..Step Aerobics

I haven't set a schedule yet, just taking it slowly, but I know I would be much better if I had a work out buddy..

Since I don't have one, I use my
Treadmillat home. I either put on IPOD on and sing my way to a healthy new me, or I pop in a DVD and exersize to some favorite shows/movies, but do need to step that up a bit..

Thank You for reminding me how important it is to keep the exersize a part of our every day lives Gus..

Big Hugbig hugs to you, and you are doing such a great job..

You're welcome about the reminder......You know, I'm almost 3 years out and I used to think the RNY would be a quick fix....NOT!  I have to work at it VERY hard and if you incorporate exercise early on after RNY, more than likely that "hobby" will continue.....Best wishes and keep it up.

Well yes you are very much a motivator, but out side of that.

1. My back has stopped hurting again
2. I know I will not make it to my goal weight with out it
3. Even though I hate every minute of it, I feel weird when I don't do it now.

I try to workout daily now so that when I can't get to it or just don't feel like it, I have several days under my belt so I get 6-7 days in a week.
