Pain
Yes, I have had this pain on my left side up on my ribs since 2003. That is when I had the lap band. The doctors thought when I had a revision to the RNY on 7/9/08 that is would go away. Well I'm still wiating. I went back to the doctors for the pain and was told that it was eigther scar tissue,or some type of growth. The doctor did not think it was a hernia but he ordered a MRI to see what is going on. I hope this helps. Ask your doctor to do an MRI.
Aimee,
It too will go away. I n the hospital I couldn't breathe bc how bad the pain was on the left side where the drainage tube was. I had surgery at 7am on a Tuesday and my dt was removed Wednesday about 8am and I hurt for a month. When I asked my md about it, he said it is normal, to look at it like this, "It is liked being stabbed 7 times, so there will be pain off and on for a while." I thought it would never go away and it was done for the most part by a month, then I had off and on again pain which my pcp feels like it is caused by scar tissue that attached to my rib cage...very painful, once that detached, I have been pain free for a while. So good luck and know it will get better!
