Day 3 of 5 DPT
Okay, tomorrow will be the start of Day 3 of the 5 day pouch test.
The next 3 days you get to eat as much as you want as often as you want. But there is a catch (always is). Your food must be from the list and you get only 15 minutes each time you sit down to eat. NO DRINKING FLUIDS 30 minutes before or after the meals and no drinking fluids with your food. A dry pouch will hold soft protein longer keeping you full and satiated.
Protein Recommendations:
Canned fish (tuna or salmon), mixed with lemon and seasoned with salt and pepper and or salsa, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, orange roughy), baked or grilled, and lightly seasoned. Yogurt and cottage cheese are allowed, but not preferred.
Measure your portions, and eat only until you are full, not overfull. If you need to add moist condiments to the fish, keep it to a minimum. If you do not like canned fish, try canned turkey or chicken.
You can have Wendi's chili. And protein bars on days 3,4, & 5. You can also have shakes, but use between meals.
My favorite recipes on days 3-5 are: the Mock breakfast burrito, Mock egg muffins and Parmesan tuna patties (I use salmon). I am planning on trying the Cranberry Turkey roll ups. All o the recipes (I think) are on the website. www.5daypouchtest.com
Good Luck to all. Day 4 will be Firm Protein ( ground meats, shellfish, fish, etc).

But I am eating ground meat today in the form of turkey in the taco soup! Are you SURE that it is ok to eat this great tasting stuff. Also this was alot easier to make than the cheese thing yesterday, tho that is also very good.
I am going to get started on Day 3 recipes now, I do know I am FULL!!!! SO day two has been great!
Bet I gain weight at the end of this week, I don't ever eat much or feel this full.
Thank you for posting this. Love and hugs, Diane

Hi Leann,
Thank you for posting this, but I have a question...If I can only eat the ham and cheese soup and the turkey taco soup...what am I to do with the left overs? Can I freeze it? Also, if understand you correctly, I'm not to eat the soup on these next three days
This is pretty easy....I love the recipes
Day 2 down!!!!
Michele
