Coming Out of Hiding

I've decided to come out of hiding.  The last few months have not been good for me.  The phrase "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" was truly made for me!  My usual happy-go-lucky attitude has been sorely tested.  It started with a demotion, then a firing, 2 months out of a job with unemployment denied and my father died.

So, I need a pick me up!  The good news is that I haven't gained any weight  (Haven't lost either) and I do feel more confident going to interviews as I'm smaller now.  Any social activities out there?  I'm in Corona & willing to drive a little.

Welcome back and we're glad you're here.  I am sending you warm thoughts and prayers for your father and to find a job quickly.

Congratulations on your staying the same during such a stressful time, sure would bring out the urge to comfort with our old friend food, so you've done great.

Welcome back and warm hugs,
Barb

Oh hunny,  I am so sorry to hear about your troubles.. It breaks my heart..

I kinda feel for you..  I was a single mom, married my husband, lost my job, then he got "down-sized" from the Air Force. He joined the Navy, we moved from my hometown, my Gram died, then a month later my Pop died.. It was so very hard to take it all in, and it is easy to let all that crap consume you..

I am sure sorry for your loss of your father. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and if you ever need anyone to talk to PM me, and I will be there.. I can even give you my number if you need to chat on the phone..

I am glad you haven't gained any weight through out this.. That is GREAT!

I live in Monterey.. I am not familiar with CA, so I am not sure how far you are,  but if you would like to come out for a visit, let me know..

If  you like the Aquarium, we can always go there.. (on me, I get free tickets)

Any-who, take care hun, and if you need me, I am here.

Hugs,
Jenn

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  Things are slowly getting better.  After 2 months with no job,  no income, putting out approx 300 applications I HAVE A JOB!!  The pay is not great (but it's better than it has been-lol) but I'm in and I intend to make the best of it!!  I will be working for a brand new Pottery Barn in Temecula that will be opening at the end of this month.  Everything already looks fantastic and the Manager & Asst. are great.

Right now I'm heading out to the gym-a friend is taking me skiing on Sunday & I haven't been for 21 years.  I'm trying to avoid too much pain-lol.  Losing weight has also made me confident enought to try skiing again (even at my age).

Wish me luck!
