Weaseled an extra week from work
Went to my 4hr pre-op class last week; was informed that Kaiser really wants us to take 4 weeks before returning to work. I had never thought about going on disability...and had planned on returning to work April 1, 15 days after surgery. Well, still not going to use disability...I have enough sick leave and vacation to use to make sure I get full pay..but I did tell the boss today that I wouldn't be back on the 1st...that Kaiser wasn't happy with my decision...and I needed to take the entire week off and go back on the 6th instead. (surgery is the 16th). To my surprize, he was totally behind the idea and said that he thought 2 weeks was a bit quick! I keep forgetting that I work for a really super guy..he's only been here a little over a year...my boss before him would have made my life miserable if I had the surgery on his watch :-( So now I really get a good chance to put my new life routine in place...3 whole weeks! I have used a day planner to schedule all the chewable vitamins, water, food, water, vitamins; and somewhere in between I'm suppose to sleep..oh yeah and WALK WALK WALK LOL

You will love having that extra week.. I am glad you work for such a sweetheart, and am so glad he is behind you in supporting your surgery and time off..
Keep up the good work, we are saving a spot here for you on the bench..
I will be leaving to Disneyland on the 16th, so if I don't get a chance to post, (ya know crazy packing and getting ready) I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and will scoot -----> over on the bench for you before I leave..
