Happy Saturday My friends
Tick tock the clock the clock is past midnight by a hour and I have been up for 20 minutes.
Happy Saturday to all of you for sure!!! Is it going to be one of those kick it Saturdays?
Thanks for the well wishes. I wish I could say I was really on the mend, but I am not at this point. I have not had a cold/flu this bad in I do not know when. I can't even imagine how my grandchildren felt and I know this is what they had. Along with about 50% of my students too. My throat is not as sore...and no Monica....I cannot go there with sal****er or otherwise I would barf my guts out!
I spent all day in bed only to get up and get something to drink and go to the bathroom. I literally ran my battery down on my iPhone playing with it and IMing with a certain you know who! LOL I have yet to figure out super good how to use Facebook on it, but did a bit. Facebook does not work on it like it does on your regular computer. However it does have Kindle for the iPhone which I thought was super cool!
Anywho....
Jean I am glad you had a good time with your grandniece. I am telling you they are just a bunch of smooches aren't they? I know you get great pleasure out of her. I am worried myself about how I am going to get through dogs and grandbabies when I have surgery in May.
Jen....new roof? OMG that is a big ticket for you, but it is nice to know you will not have leaks. What did the doctor say about the overfill? Did you take some out or did you leave it that way?
Maureen you know I love the bling thing. My fil was a jeweler, but in all the years I have been married to Jeff....well I only asked him one time for something and that is when we were married for 20 years and anybody knows who has seen the bling on my finger knows I scored big time! You are right you have to do it yourself!
Barb...know you are going have a quiet weekend...did it stop raining up there in the bay area? Have you heard anything about the job situation yet?
Naomi....quiet is good too...I think you need to have a weekend like that every once and a while. Are things okay at work? March 15th is approaching and I know at our district we are wearing pink union shirts that day.
Monica....how did all the partying go for Missy Jordyn? How are you doing about getting all your reading done for your class? Hard to do so with a new girl in your life!
Lu Lu I do not know where you are, but you are missed gf!
Michele...how are you doing? Are you dying to get on the scale?
Diane...did you chew Doug's leg off yet? I am really proud of you doing this....you will get there....and remember the glass is half full girl...you have done such an amazing job!
Lisa I am sorry that you and your bf are not clicking right now...that must be tough. You never did say or I missed it, but how did the test go with your bladder?
Jan up in NorCal....I hope you know that I think you are amazing and look like a hottie....I was blown the hell away at how you looked and in fact might have missed you if I didn't know better. FUnny thing yesterday someone called named Jan and I thought it was you until we both realized she had the wrong number! LOL
Navy/Jenn I am glad you are doing better about taking your vitamins and stuff....do not want to hear you are not cuz we are gonna slap you if you do not and sit on you and make you take them!
Marcy....glad you are home and doing okay....I have not seen you on the boards except for you post and I hope that you are recovering super fast!
Gina...you girl are amazing and I am so proud of you!!! You look awesome! You keep up all that hard work!
Kim...you doing okay? Weather has sucked to do too much running right?
Speaking of running LOLA you running fool...how and the heck are you and are your poor feet surviving....if you did not have a number and tell us, I would not have recognized you either. I am really proud of you!
Janel B...thanks for keeping in touch with me. I know your situation is not good, but you are strong and will find the right path....don't let sis bully you!
Joy are you all wound down from your party weekend? I am so glad you had a good time and a lot of good friends and family around you...you deserve it! We do have to form an OH biker gang for sure!
Karen B...you really are a SunRay and the reason I say this....well you should have named yourself a rayofsunshine because you are always so sweet and upbeat!!! You are a welcomed edition to the boards! Only 7 weeks until we can call you a LOSER!!!
Julie...how is it going? Thank you for the other day saying that my words resonated for you. I do not know where I was coming from, but I write what I feel at the time. I am glad it helped you. BTW good on you going to school....I know how tuff it is to go back to school....you just hang in there...it will be so sweet when you do graduate!
Chris S you still feeling like you are a dizzy blond? Now don't any of you blond's get your drawers in a fluff over that statement...it was meant in true fun!!! It really sucks that vertigo I have heard and I am sorry that you have to go through so much poop sometimes....not fair!
Sue how are you doing? I am really praying that hubby is doing okay...taking a fall is not a good thing with his poor back...let us know how he is doing.
Steve....thinking of you dude...you are sorely missed. We know you have to do what you have to do, but want you to know we love you and miss you!
Its free here Christine!!! LOL I hear you about it being cold and no money...where does it go because we sure work hard for it eh? Hope you have a relaxing weekend nevertheless!
Rhonda....I sure hope that you are not getting what I have...OMG it is just the worst....I hope you are sleeping some of it off and that when you wake today you will be feeling much better!
Paula K if I were you even if the doc does release you to eat cereal, I would not. I know when I had surgery the doc said we could eat mashed potatoes. I tried once and OMG it hurt. I just feel the less complex carbs we eat the better off we are....just mho.....you do what your doc says. I just know for myself that it was and still is easier to get that kind of stuff down than it was other and it got to be a bad habit like much of everything else does if you do it too much! I hope you are doing well otherwise!
JennirJohn...so happy for you about your date!!! That is friggin awesome and I am jumping up and down for you also...soon to be a LOSER!!!
Linda your new board pic looks awesome!! You look awesome for that matter and you do have a great attitude about what has happened to you...you will get through it. Did you go out and party>
Ms. Shells...you are the resident party animal....you go girl!!! Everything going okay and how is Angela doing. I do not think I have seen her post on the boards!
Other Juile....OMG your board pics looks awesome too...how are things going for you? You look like you are being quite successful there girl!
You know I know I am missing a zillion of you, but I hope you know just cuz I do not shout you out does not mean I do not care!
It is cold and windy here in the desert and my nose now feels like a popsicle so I think I will wander back to bed and try and get some sleep and hopefully feel 1000% better in the a.m.. I am suppose to go out tonight to this really great new restuarant in Palm Springs called DINKS....Jeff and I are going there with Laura's (the woman I did the mural for) family for dinner. How cool is that? I made them all books of the journey I took with constructing the mural...like a scrapbook of photo's. I wanted them to take something back with them as I felt it was better than just have a picture of it.
Hope you all have a super terrrific day and be kind to yourselves....just remember that each day is a new day and with our surgery it makes it especially good!

Wow that is some shout out this morning.. I can't believe how much you can remember and keep track of, I forgot what I did yesterday let alone remember tons of info.. Hahaha I think they cut out a piece of my brain with my WLS.. *wink*
Thank you for the support, I am happy to be taking them, but hey if I say I am not taking them, that means I get to meet you in person right.. Hehehe Just kidding.. I will meet you one day, but under a much happier situation. I will continue taking my vitamins not only for ME, but for my family. I don't need them taking care of a sick mother growing up.
Anywho, setting clocks.. Can't believe how fast this year is going by already.. Wow, summer is almost here..
Today the DH works a 12 hour day shift, so after some cleaning, I think I am going to do something fun with the kids (weather permitting).
I hope you all have a great day..
Hugs,
Jenn
I was going to try to drive to Vista to meet with Dawn and Becky today, but don't really think that is wise . .. I will be staying close to home or to wherever my friend will drive me!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Chris
Glad your throat is not sore but sorry about all the other gunk. I hope the grand kiddos are better. We had a nice gathering and I hope to do a pictorial of her day. Today I am taking her shopping for near gear as she has grown out of all of her jammies and other things. The doc called last night with the results for her allergies. She still has the same ones but peanuts has gotten worse and she is beginning to show for shimp and wheat. no pb&j in my gals future.
As far as my reading i am still about 40pgs short for this week but last night it was just giving me a headache so I had to stop. I have to have it done by tomorrow and get the quiz taken.
Everyone enjoy the day
Monica

Janine, I hope you are feeling WAY better by the time you get back up this morning. That is so cool what you have done for Laura and her family. I know they appreciate it more than they can say. I know I would.
DH is not doing well at all. Too top it off, he runs out of pain meds today and the pharmacy won't fill it until Monday. The good news is he goes back in for injections Wednesday.
Sammi and I are getting ready to head out to do our usual weekend errands. We're going to start picking stuff up for her birthday party. Little stink is going to be 4 in a couple of weeks. Can't believe how fast they grow!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Sue

Good Morning Janine and all my Cali friends!

It's going to be a good day here today.... that's my story and I and I am stickin' 2 it.

Sorry I have been MIA so much lately. Just in a weird place mentally. I'm sure y'all understand. Know that I have been checking in most days and lurking like a stalker but just don't know what to post so I don't.

So things for the family, D and I are moving along. So much happened it is hard to process. I think I have been through all my Mom's papers and gotten organized. Sad to say there isn't a big inheritance. But that's fine by me. Mom was able to live comfortably on my Dad's annuity and that was a blessing. She didn't have to eat cat food or go without. My nephew Jason is taking care of his Dad's papers and business. We've gotten everything at the mobile home removed and dispersed now. Will be painting this week and I need to have the flooring replaced and a couple of things repaired. Then we will decide if we can afford to lease it out or have to sell it cheap. Hate to have to sell it too cheap and lose the IRA money D and I took out and put down on it when we bought it.
But today will be a good day as we are having the family over for a special dinner this afternoon. My nephew Jason's Mom, Linda (my ex-SIL) is going to make her famous Chicken Won Ton's which most of us haven't had in YEARS! She and her husband Jeff own a KOA campground in Madison, WI, which they close down for the winter, and they come out here for the winter season. They are heading back next week to prepare to open in April. They will be here along with her mother Marie. She and my Mom lived with Linda and my brother Walter for 17 years before their divorce in '02. That's when Mom and Walter moved to the mobile home. I hadn't seen Marie since then until we had brunch a week or so after Mom passed away. ANYway.... Nephew Jason and his fiance, Anna, my other nephew Rob (in town this weekend from Arizona... he is Brother Bob's son), Darrell's sister Joyce, nephew George and his wife Pam will also be here. It should be a wonderful afternoon and evening. Before then I need to buy the paint for the mobile home and meet Jason there to clear out the tool shed. He is taking all (I hope!) of his Dad's tools. There are a LOT! Walter loved being a handyman.
So that's what's going on here. Oh and Janine, I can relate to your illness... I have been suffering with a similar thing all week but feeling better now, not great but much improved. Hope you have a speedy recovery buddy. It isn't nice to feel this bad!
Also let me thank everyone here that has been sending messages of love and support the last few weeks. It has meant a great deal to me to know how much you folks care. Although I often did not respond your concern gave me strength to keep on keeping on even when I just wanted to curl up in ball and disappear. But just when the depression and sadness would feel like it would overtake me suddenly I would read my e-mail and find a note, a Facebook wall post, an OH PM.... well, that would brighten my mood. Never think those small kindnesses we do for each other are in vain. They are not. And again, my heartfelt thanks to all of you!
Have a terrific Saturday Cali!

We have Jayden this weekend. He brought his books along and bet dad he could read all15 books. If he did, dad said he'd buy him a donut with sprinkles on it. Dad's going to work at 2 so he and I will head to the outlet stores. MoMo will pay him off for his donut. I need pants or a dress appropriate for a funeral. So............ off we go. I am headed down to Lauri's house on Monday afternoon. Vigil is on Tuesday evening and funeral Wednesday morning with burial at the VA cementary in Dixon in the afternoon. Full catholic mass with the Knights of Columbus in attendance and at the cemetar is a full Military with Honor Guard in attendance. He had everything planned down to the detail and arranged and paid for. That's just the way he was. And, when he was first diagnosed 9 months ago, he told the doctor he was probably going to die on his birthday and what do you know............he did. Born March 4, 1930 and died March 4, 2009.
Tomorrow we're going pheasant hunting. We need to get these useless dogs out and back working. They've been just doing their dog thing and need to get back to work and reiterate their training. And if a certain yellow one doesn't stop chasing my cat...................... :0)
Good morning Janine and Cali friends!
Thanks for the shout out and I am glad you are feeling a little bit better. Let's hope it continues!!! We are off to take my DH to the doctor......he has the crud that's going around too. I know he is sick when he agree's to let me make an appointment with the doc for him! It took me over 3 years last time to get him to go.
anyway, the roof is awesome!!! We really like it! It's done and over so hopefully no more problems with the insurance company!
I had a slight "unfill" yesterday of .5 cc's and gosh what a world of difference. I am very happy that the scale has started to move.... 197 this morning!!!! YIPPEE!!!! I cannot remember when I weighed below 200! I am very happy! I hope it continues.
Have a great, great day everyone!!!
Jeni
Janine, hope you are feeling much better soon. No fun at all to be down, especialy someone as vivacious as you.
So much for a quiet weekend.... today, I am going to take my mother-in-law shopping as she will be having carotid artery surgery this coming Friday. So please hold good thoughts and prayers for her. She is such a sweetie. Tomorrow, I am going in to SF to visit and goof around with my Step Mom. We always have a great time. I took Monday off so I could have a girls day out with one of my closest friends so that ought to be fun. Sounds like a shopping weekend to me. Ron is busy studying this weekend, so I know he won't mind the quiet.
I had my meet and greet/lunch with the prospective School District last Thursday. He was VERY impressed with my work and kept saying well, when you come you will see. OR, you will find that... and at the end asked me if I would like to come over for a sneek peak at the District offices. All things I thought were very good indications that he was impressed. Seems like a super nice and laid back sort of guy. I was up front about my surgery because he would have looked at me weird when I only ate 2 oz of chicken and told them to hold the salad, and ate 1/4 of a piece of honeydew melon and nothing else. He was very supportive and shared with me that a friend of his had it done and is doing great. I hope to hear from him soon, and will keep you posted!
Thanks as always for a wonderful shout out and hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. It's going to be beautiful all week they said.... whoo hoo.
Hugs,
Barb
Morning Calis! Wow Janine...for someone who is really under the weather, your post was awesome! What do ya do??? Write everything down? I'd have to...my memory is certainly not what it use to be LOL Maureen, was in your shoes regarding the funeral just last month. My husbands best friend up in Washington state passed away, very unexpectedly, and had the same full Catholic doings...was it ever impressive! And the military Honor Guard...well, just prepare for the 21 gun solute ^_^ Those guys are sooo handsome in ther uniforms. My heart goes out to you for your loss {{{HUGS}}}
On another note, I'm going to go Lodi to attend a support group that Laura told me about...a little nervous..I'm not good at meeting new people...but I warm up fast! Wish me luck! :-)
After I get home, might try to mow the backyard, if it has dried out enough. Lon mowed the front lawn..gawd does it look so much better! Now my neighbors can't complain that we are the 'sore eye' in the neighborhood. I swear, with all the rain we have gotten, it was 10" deep. the rest of day will probably include my daily walk with my 2 'kids'...Rusty and Trudy...2 chihuahuas (of 4 )...they are my motivation for getting in the exercise...THEY need it...I'm just being nice LOL Other than that, was hoping to get in a scooter ride but I don't think it's gonna warm up enough, so I'll stay in, do some reading and maybe work on my latest carving project..a mountain goat bust, big horns and all. Probably also be on the computer ALOT...Lon downloaded Newsguy newsgroup reader for me and we have started posting again in a group where we met....yep, we're one those people..met on the net 11 years ago So that's my weekend...sure hope those of you who are under the weather get well soon...and all of you be good to yourselves..we all deserve it!
