Um...Kevin...I know you just didn't call me OLD! LOL...haha...I do feel like I have to fight to stay fit now. I never felt too relaxed about my weight even after I hit goal. Ok, well maybe just a bit but not too much. My pouch pretty much worked really well at letting me know I had enough to eat...now it still does it's job but not as good as before. I appreciate the words. Take care and see you around. Thanks!

Hi Elisa,
I am 7 years out (in May) and I am up 15 from my lowest.  I always have the fear of the creeping pounds, but I think if you keep a healthy fear and you do get back on track, you will be ok.  I tend to fluctuate these ten pounds depending on the amount of stress in my life (I am STILL an emotional eater!!!).

I tend to do the 5 day pouch test every 6 months or so and I think that has helped me, as well.  I am not as diligent with being active - definitely gotta work on that!!!
BUT Don't worry it happens to most.  Just be honest with yourself and keep a scale handy to weigh yourself once a week.  Oh, and don't forget support groups - they truly help you with accountability!

Wow Cathy, 7 years post-op and only 15+ from your lowest weight is almost nothing...you've done super great! I am glad I am not alone and that I can come here and get these types of responses that help me understand what's going on here. I really appreciate your advice. :)

Thank you all for your replies. I am glad & relieved to hear that some of you have experienced a bit of weight gain but are still maintaining a healthy weight.
I know that I don't ever want to go back up into the 200s. I just can't let that happen after all my hard work and sacrifice. I do weigh myself almost daily...it helps me keep tabs on myself.
I appreciate the words of encouragement and support. OH is my only means of support for wls. I so needed to get back here...you guys have to know how much I needed to "talk" to people who understand me. Thanks all!

My only question is...why are you drinking carbonated beverages???????????????????? ARE  YOU CRAZY? THE STUFF IS POISON! I would strongly advise not to drink sodas of any kind. I am not wanting to sound mean or anything but sweetie, I am sure you know better, sugar free soda is as bad in the long run as the regular ones.
You know how to get back on track. So, I will just wish you the very best of luck and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you make good choices.

HUGS
JOY

Yup, I do know how to get back on track and I do know what I should or shouldn't be eating. When you get beyond 2 years post-op things change. You lose a lot of weight...now the hard work comes in...which is maintaining what you've lost. I see your pouch is still new...mine isn't. It takes me longer now to get that full sensation...and I don't drink with my meals.
But thanks for the advice and I am doing my best to make good choices. :)
