Because trash-talking is So Cal just isn't enough.......

I also want to run the 5k in San Francisco in July: www.runsfm.com

I was going to run the half, but I don't think I can keep up with the required 13-minute mile pace. Besides, I like to stay out late and dance when I'm in SFO.

So, who wants to run the 5k???

If you run frequently you can enter the 'progressive marathon'. You document that you have completed 23 miles before the event and then complete to 5k to get a marathon finishers medal.

I thought it might be a cool way to meet some of the No Cal OHers too.....

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Well heck - I'm not in Nor Cal, but I am loving the idea of the progressive marathon! I printed out the sheet and am going to start working on 5k's!

If I can convince my hubby to go, I'll see you in San Francisco!!

So between now and July you'd have to complete about (8) 5ks.  You could easily do that, and think about how much better shape you'd be in by July!

I get to start this weekend with Dana Point's 5k Grunion Run!! That is, if my overprotective husband will let me... he still thinks I'm too early out from surgery for that far of a walk!

Yup, it has been a while since I've lurked or posted anything. I was gone for 4months from Cali and was training at an academy for my new job in Georgia. Sucked being out there! Sooo glad to be home now. :)

OMG!!!  I might like you do this with you....  I start my training program next week so I'll find out in a hurry if running is my thing or not....  I bought myself running shoes and socks and the training program for my 58th birthday last month.

If it turns out to not be my thing, I will come over to the race to cheer the rest of the runners on anyway.  (I know, my son has been telling me when I say things like this that I'm planning to fail before I even get started)

Add me to the 5K YES list....

It's actually a 13:45 pace....from the time the last wave starts.  So....If you get up to the front for the start, you have extra time.  :-)  It also looks like you will be allowed to finish, you just have to move to the sidewalk (which is what we were told at LA but that never happened).  So.....why go all the way up there to do a 5k?  You've got it in you to do the 1/2.....do it!!!!!  :-)
