3 Month Check Up
So I had my 3 month check up and my md said my labs were "PERFECT", thank you Bariatric Fusion! He also said that I needed to stay on a 400 calorie a day diet. Anyone else on that for now? Just wanting to see what other md's were saying.
I have lost 49 lbs since surgery and I am feeling great. Still learning what I can and can't eat but for the most part, I can have almost anything except for chicken or lunch meat.
Any suggestions for calories for me now would be great!
Thanks,
Charity

Are you sure he said 400 calories. I cannot imagine you even getting 3 protein shakes in for around 400 calories. That sure seems like not alot. I would check to make sure you heard that right. The only thing my doctor said was more proteins than carbs in anything I ate or drank. I think I was on about 1200 a day or less, but I never remember being on that low a calorie diet, but then maybe that is why I still have 50 lbs to go! And it's been forever.
Check with him to make sure.
good luck, Diane

Hey Charity,
He kept you on 500 calories? Their booklet (which granted leaves SO much to be desired) says for 2to 6 months we're supposed to increase to 900 to 1000 calories and 65 to 75 grams of protein. Well, I guess I will see what Dr. Rogers says when I see him in April. I am losing well so far.

I questioned him because I know what the so called booklet says. He told me several times that I should not be eating more than 400 calories a day and that I need to make sure I am eating no more than that. While I think my weight loss is a slow, he thought I was fine, as I have lost 50 lbs since surgery and he wants me to lose only 50 more lbs but I am going for 80-90 more.
He told me not to look at the booklet and to do what he says and that he will see me back in 3 months.
Now, I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions???
Thanks!
