Newbie wanting to be a part of the club
Hi Laura,
I love and miss Simi. I grew up out there. Where are you in Simi? We just cant afford to go out there. As to what kind of nurseI am well it has been a road these past 5.5 years. Yes the surgeon that I have worked with is Dr. Yadegar. He is friends with Dr Mehran. I was the bariatric nurse coordinator here in Lancaster. The hospital pulled me back into the hospital to work case management. I see the bariatric pts when they are in the hospital. I would love to meet you some time.

Small world Liz. I live just off of Sycamore and Erringer. What a great job to be the bariatric nurse coordinator. I found a job listing in West Los Angeles Kaiser that stated that the kaiser bariatric program was looking for a coordinator. I thought for about 3 seconds that I might apply for the job but the drive would kill me. But what a great way to stay motivated after WLS.
I've been a nurse since 1999. Following a few nursing jobs in Los Angeles I came to Ventura County and fell in love with the Mountains and the city of Simi. When I came to Simi I worked peer review, risk/quality management at Simi Hospital for a year, went back to the bedside (labor and delivery) for a year and found that I was burned out on hospitals so I went to public health. I do love public health. It pays pretty good, you can't beat the hours (10 hour days, 4 days a week and three days off), and the retirement is fabulous. Anyway... blah, blah, blah enough about me.
We should meet sometime. Lancaster is only a couple of hours away.
