I need a "in need of books" place...
I am in the process of de-booking my house. I have been an avid reader for years and I have hundreds of books that need a good home. (All sorts of topics) I have tried prisons, they do not take hardbound books and the library just sells them at book sales. I am looking for active senior complex or a retirement villa...someplace like that where the books will be read and not get dusty. Even a woman's shelter would be terrific. (mostly women themed books, historical novels, women rising from the ashes...etc...) Anybody have any suggestions? I can transport them to places not too far from home, but there are too many to ship anywhere...probably over 100, most of them hardbound. Yes, my name is Kim and I am a book addict..lol If you are looking for a particular title, or topic, I can see if I have it and I can ship it too you..lol (I love Beverly Lewis..I have a bunch of those still left I think) I have donated several hundred already, but these are the latest batches, found in the cavernous hideaways in my house. I am looking into buying a new home and I don't want to take them with me. Lemme know!

Ahhh, a fellow bibliophile! You might want to try selling them on half.com or Ebay.
I'm don't understand why you don't want to donate them to the library. Most libraries use the proceeds from book sales to purchase new books or other wonderful causes. I
my library! I would have gone insane the past year (since hubby lost his job and I couldn't afford to buy books.) if it wasn't for my local library and inter-library loans.
