I can be such a dumbass sometimes....Jeff asked me to go over my Visa statement for the year to make sure I had not missed any deductions.

Well I started looking at the statement and wondered where all these charges were coming from....and much to my shock this company that I had inquired into about searching for grants had been charging me each month and I never knew it. Why you ask...because I just paid what I owed each month and never bothered to see what was being charged because I knew where I had used it each month.

Neeless to say, I had Jeff on the phone...they had been charging me in 3 different charges about $60 a month. I am like...wait a minute, I inquired and paid for a $1.99 CD, got a phone explaining the grant thing....they wanted $1500 to help me find money and I told them no and thought it went away. Well they had my credit card number and just charged away!!!

I feel like such a dope...dumbass whatever....that will teach me to look at my statement. Thankfully they are reversing the charges for all these months as they could see that I never activated the CD.

YIKES!!!! Be careful of what you purchase or don't purchase!

Hey Janine, I know the feeling.

I paid 3.95 for a grant CD. I never got the CD then about a week later there's another charge for $80 and a week later another charge for $30. I got the 30 reversed right away and I'm having to fight the 3.95 and the 80 through the bank. I can't get anyone on the phone. I beleive all those grant writing places are a scam. definately something to be aware of.

My elderly mother got charged for an inquiry about some free jewelry samples. It took her over a year to get most of the charges reversed. Actually I think she only got three months worth reversed. She had to close her charge acct and open a new one to get it to stop.

If you are a dumbass, then I am too!!! I just fell into one of these scams, it is Google Cash. I used my credit card for 1.95 shipping on a CD and then forgot about it, not realizing it was something I needed to cancel or they were going to charge me more. So now I am waiting on a $40 refund and since then, there is a new $40 charge that must be from them too!!! I'm such a sucker for these things.
My hubby just tried to get me to buy the Grant thing and I told him NO WAY, my Mom paid for it and got nothing out of it all!!!
So, you are not alone sweetie, it happens to the best of us!!!
